Yo, yo Ma, have you ever had cello with cream?

I dont eat oatmeal anymore due to the high gluten content bloats me, makes me itch and now am onto quinoa which also has protein and roasted buckwheat is so flavorful, the house will smell divine. It has no gluten, actually from the rhubarb family. Ladies watch out for the high gluten products when trying to get fibre.

Ok folks, I have a food dilemma, and I want to put it out here.

Due to thyroid issues, eating more than one helping of tofu per day is a no no (also cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts and tofu stuff like edemame).  That would be one helping of all of those ... If I have one helping of tofu, I can't have any of the others the rest of the day.

I also am lactose intolerant, and while I CAN eat milk products, and lactaid helps, I still don't want to - it makes things better, but I still am not very olphactorily pleasant to be around, and my tummy still gets a little upset.

Beans, let's face it, make you toot.  If I want to toot, I'll eat cheese (or broccoli).  I don't.

SO..... Any suggestions of how I can move toward being vegetarian?  Basically no tofu or milk products.  Prefer no beans.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
sunshine

True, but not in ALL the recipes. I'm sure you can find more than one dish to your liking. (Btw, I changed the original link I posted) Check out the casserole recipes.

Previously unsuccessful thyroid transplants have been abandoned and replaced with successful transplants using rabbits. See link.

Depends how much you like carrots I guess.

Have you done any research on eating a raw food diet?  It's not my thing because I think you need to have balance and that means protein from somewhere (beans, if rinsed with cold water to help cut down on gas, are always a good option).

Have a look at some of the recipes on this link...
http://www.thebestofrawfood.com/raw-food-diet-recipe-index.html

I'll see what else I can come up with and send it off to you.

I've also had to cut back on my tofu consumption because of thyroid problems.  Moderation is key.

Be sure you're getting enough B12 if you've lowered your protein intake.

If it were real Scottish ... "poop" becomes "shite" I believe.

I have thyroid troubles as well (hypothyroidism), but the doctor has me taking meds for it. Funny thing is I love brussels sprouts, cauliflower & broccoli. When I see him again (hopefully next week or 3 weeks from now), I will ask more questions about my problems (fibromyalgia) and why when I work out. my face turns beet red.

BTW, we (mom and I) tried going a week without any sweets except what we can cook up (banana breads). Our energy levels dropped like a rock into a creek. We went to the bread store and got the honeybuns, chocolate covered doughnuts, pecan pinwheels and raisin bread (I love that for breakfast) but also got cereals since I do get up in the mornings early wanting something to eat. Usually I eat cereal when the insomnia gets me up so I drink the milk from the bowl. Afterwards, I get sleepy again (if I am not on here or playing pogo).
