Goodness, what's all this tumbleweeds and standing about, here..? [&:]

Angel, that Wii is your friend. I have one, and sometimes I get mad and look askance at it, but I know it's my friend. They have a "Biggest Loser" program for it, did you know?

Just sayin'.

kalikshama -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (1/21/2011 11:58:34 AM)

We had three Biggest Loser at Works, each for 3 months. Having that weekly weigh in helped me lose 45#. Accountability...

I've gained back 7# over the holidays, and am struggling to get back on track. I hate the way the gym is so crowded with the January influx. My friends live on a golf course and I've been going over there a few nights a week for a brisk 35 minute walk. He's 6'4", so we're huffing and puffing to keep up.

I'm also struggling to do yoga in the AM. My goal is a minimum of 45 minutes; I did 70 on Wednesday, but all too often it's only the warmups. I must stay off the forums in the AM!

Good for you, Kalikshama!!!
The hardest part is getting started but you did it! The gym DOES suck right after 1/1! All the NY's resolutions folks come pounding in w/their magazines to read as they inch their way long on the bike/or treadmill. Keep going & don't let them deter you from staying in shape! Show them how it's done!

http://www.tylerbariatrics.com/index.htm

This is the doctor who I will be discussing the procedure.  There are really 3 procedures that can work with me.  I am thinking about the sleeve gastrectomy, where a portion of the stomach is removed and the intestines are not affected.  With Lab Band, I have to wait until the 4th week to have the device blow up.  Stomach stapling sounds invasive to me and I am afraid that of possibility of large scars turns me off.

with all 3, my food intake will drop down.  I know the risk of all three procedures and I am willing to give it a try.  Medicare does have it where they will help out with any procedure according to their guidelines.  I fulfill all conditions.

I will start exercising after the surgery is healed.

I admit that I will not look like Dolly Parton, but it will be a close second...

GO FOR IT, Shahar! [sm=cheering.gif]
Angel, there are no "sad sad" folks on this thread. Funny ones who love irony, however, that would be a different story.. [:D]

Ok campers, who got up and did something active today? [:)] Let's hear about it..

ShaharThorne -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (1/22/2011 7:07:56 PM)

You try finding your mother while in the Walmart and riding the go-cart (concrete makes my legs hurt if I walk on it for over 5 minutes, same with standing).

BTW..the Valentines day aisle is already crowded...and I did resist the sweetness...

So thanks for posting this, cuz yesterday the most active thing I did was flip pages in Scott Turow's "Innocent." Today, I am going to a chocolate festival. If I must indulge, best to have to walk an hour (in the lush Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens) in order to do so.

Meeeeeee!  I did Leslie Sansone's 3-mile walk.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (1/23/2011 9:53:25 AM)

I walked to the bathroom. And back.

VirginPotty -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (1/24/2011 6:22:29 AM)

Friday after work I went to a "Body Sculpting" class & was so glad that I did!
I've been working out on my own but since the gym is small there's not a whole lot of options so I wanted to mix it up & add some variety. I'll be attending more classes!

I did pretty well on Sat....ww toast/coffee for b'fast, then mid morning a bowl of brown rice. Lunch was a veggie sandwich from Panera. Three hours later a Lean Cuisine 4-cheese pizza. Water all day.

Yesterday not so well. I went to brunch w/a friend & had a cranberry crepe topped w/caramel sauce (talk about SWEET)! Had a large salad w/that along w/2 small garlic bicuits.  For dinner meatless spaghetti w/ww angel hair pasta & salad.

Tonight back to the gym.

Sorry, had to take a nap since I was up at 3am.  having a stir fry tonight for dinner. I want a real wok since I love stir frying that way, not in a skillet.  Maybe have a 40 calorie Popsicle in chocolate.

SorceressJ -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (1/24/2011 1:04:11 PM)

That's ok Shahar, I had to go back to bed and sleep far later today than I would like, because I didn't get but about two hours in the night.
Enough rest is SO important. Really it is..
Tonight, Pilates and lots of Yoga-like stretching, because I did not work out yesterday and I have stiffened up a bit.
This cold, it really gets into my joints, yanno.. it will get easier with diligence and the advent of spring.

Having beans for dinner. YAY protein! [:D]

Does anyone else take vitamin/mineral/herbal supplements of any kind? and if so, which ones?
I take a good multi-vitamin (Centrum Silver, actually. Even though I am only not quite 44, the Silvers absorb well and do not bother my stomach as much, plus they have the extra iron I need), and am considering ginseng and bee pollen (I used to take both in the past, and felt great doing it, so..).
