Most of us realize, that the unemployment numbers for Black people is at a record high level, ALREADY. Before I jet out to the job that I cherish, I wanted to post these facts. Employment Situation Summary He's So Historic: Black Unemployment Hits Great Depression Levels So in reality, many Black people are in the Depression, right now! I am sure these numbers will be even more interesting when today's unemployment levels are announced. I have to go, this Black woman can not be late for work!!!!

Well seeing as the unemployment figures are near depression level across the board...where is the shock value that black unemployment has soared past depression era levels? Most are aware that figures for black unemployment always exceeds the general population.Add to that the figures for the underemployed(not to mention those who have simply dropped out of the job market alltogether) and a more distressing picture could not be painted.

Maybe we need another stimulus package. Eventually if we throw enough money at the problem it will disappear.

The new numbers tho show green shoots. U6 is the more truthful number. Even in good times- the Black unemployment numbers are high. The official BLS dropped to 10%- ahhh likely since next week is a big bond sale.

Luv you Mia.... Actually, I am not crazy about either party, servant. I tend to be one of the rising numbers of MODERATES. I try to be as non-partisan as I can be, and focus on the issues. A lot of issues are not seriously dealt with because of partisan bullshit. I really don't think we are in the hell we are in now, because of Democrats. Please, don't get me started on Ronald Reagan, "rampant free trade agreements" in the "global market", and outsourcing American jobs tonight! Happy Holidays, servant.

Mia, given some of the nightmare numbers that come out of the black community for crime, incarceration, dropouts, unwed mothers, quality of education, etc., I'd say 15% unemployment when the national rate is over 10% is fucking miraculous.

Mia, it's been a week, and I'm just not up for one of those threads where you get what I'm saying, and white people start calling me names [;)] The military is a pretty damn good job. Free training in some highly sophisticated fields, full medical and dental, an insanely good educational benefit, 30 days paid vacation annually, discount booze and bars, a retirement plan, AND free work boots.

Rich, the military is the best employer in town these days!! Damn skippy, I agree with you. I was thinking maybe it is a good thing, we need 30,000 more troops in Afghanistan! Plenty of jobs for everyone! I would just ask for more bullet proof vests, and bullet proof head gear. Hell, if you can just stay alive, you will have it made. Mike, he's got a point! The Dems have ALWAYS courted the Black vote promising them the moon and the stars and when they get into office promptly forgetting them! Remember Clinton and,....."midnight basketball?" So they created a few municipal jobs while Clinton signed "NAFTA" into law and immediately we began losing high paying manufacturing jobs by the hundreds of thousands per month.

But talking code to middle class white people,preying on their fears of how they are losing their way of life to "them" is not designed with the black vote in mind...lol.Quite the oppisite as a matter of fact.
