Actually the hypocricy would come in when The President condemns a former President for violating international law, and then may be doing it himself. Personally I feel the official US statement should be "We follow International Law unless we deem that there is a threat to our security.". Then again that statement would not cover what Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, or Obama has/is doing. I agree the topic is a dig that plays to partisan politics. The retort should be "do you, or did you support the violation of international law by previous administrations? If yes, then why do you suddenly have a problem now?" quote:
