I did not realize that profiles could disappear so quickly. . .

With no pic and a scant profile of my own, I get little mail (BTW I like it this way). But I got a PM today saying that this person would "like to get to know me better." Hmmm. . . . perfectly fine, just when I opened the PM I really did not feel like typing a few sentences about myself.

I just came back to it . . . and there is no profile and no way to send a message.

So, does anyone know, just how long does it take to delete a profile or have it deleted (I am not even sure if this is an automated feature)?

And another question, what was the point of sending me a PM if they were not going to be around to read it?

This is not the first time that this has happened to me. I will often wait to reply, so that I can think about a "good" reply first. It is annoying to think about a reply and then not be able to send it. I suppose that it boils down to it being the internet and all. . . but in a matter of hours? Sheesh. . . give me at least a day to respond.

Thank you all.

Best,

LaMalinche

If you're trying to take a roomful of people by surprise, it's a lot easier to hit your targets if you don't yell going through the door.

I put them in the category of those who email saying "Can we talk" or the like - when I respond with "Regarding...?", they don't respond. I think what they are basically looking for is immediate discourse via Yahoo or another IM service (and if it's needed immediately, it's probably not to get to know one another with the goal of meeting for a cup of coffee).

It takes only a moment to delete your account, under the edit profile option.

Perhaps he found you so dauntingly aloof and mysterious that his courage gave out and he ran away?

I always thought you were rather fetching! At any rate, I for one am undaunted.

Did not some famous historical person have that as their motto? "Be Not Daunted"
