No, no - you can't give Lincoln the credit for that! President Buchanan saved the Union by creating the circumstances that led to the Civil War. Had he not done so, Lincoln would not have had the opportunity to save the Union, therefore all credit has to go to Buchanan.

I'm sorry, Mike, but you really need to learn how this works. I'm surprised you haven't picked it up yet, considering what a clinic some of our conservative friends have been putting on the last few months.

slvemike4u -> RE: Maybe Palin is learning to be a politician (12/7/2009 9:22:12 PM)

I heard Buchanan was a drunk too?

And that you and others keep calling perjury a "blowjob" doesn't help much...

Then the question becomes why his personal life was subject to accountability by Congressional Republicans.

LOL, for a minute I thought you were talking Pat Buchanan.  Was about to say "Think"?  I've met the guy.  There's no "think" involved.  His breath smells like a bar room floor.

Please try to kee up BK.

Yes, but how could that possibly have been his fault?

His predecessor - my ancestor, Franklin Pierce - was a drunk as well. So Pierce did it first.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Maybe Palin is learning to be a politician (12/8/2009 7:20:59 AM)

Let's debate Millard Fillmore for a while shall we?

As for Palin, I feel her greatest liability is the reason I respected McCain.  He had been thru hell and never quit believing and working for things to get better.  There is nothing a hostile congress can do to a man that holds a candle to years in the Hanoi Hilton.  Palin, on the other hand, seems to believe that "when the going gets tough, the tough sign a book deal and resign"

Nuff said

Yeah, it must have been cool. But wouldn't you have rather banged Marylin Monroe in the white house coat closet like JFK? Now THAT'S a man who showed the judgement I expect from a president.

slvemike4u -> RE: Maybe Palin is learning to be a politician (12/8/2009 1:20:26 PM)

Hell...fucking MM in a phone booth would have done it for me Spinner.

I hate to tell you this, but you're starting to sound like Rush Limbaugh's evil twin.

Say what you like. I still think whoever the candidate the GOP puts up for '12 is, their campaign slogan will be "I'm not Obama".

I know, right. How disingenuous is it for a politician to base their campaign around their differences from the incumbent.

It's not as if there's going to be a real Change anyone can Believe In or anything. [8|]

But we do need change. And I believed in the platform that Obama ran under. Yes, there is a great deal of disappointment on my part as well as other progressives that many of the changes we hope for haven't happened yet, but the ideas presented are still valid. If the republicans were to come up with any ideas, I'd be glad to listen to them as well.

I could really give a rats ass if you or Clinton get a blow job in the oval office, just don't tell kids afterward that is wasn't sex.

tazzygirl -> RE: Maybe Palin is learning to be a politician (12/9/2009 6:20:57 AM)

When an administration's actions are remembered more for a sexual act, a slut who saved a cum stained dress, a woman who looked more like a man then most men, and a badly worded definition of the word "sex" by a judge....

i see a whole lot of jealousy!

LMAO

I have a friend who works for a childrens center in Detroit. One of her 12 yr old clients was asked why he thought it was appropriate to have sex with his fellow classmates, and he told her "everyone knows a blow job isn't sex, even the president said so".  At the time she didn't understand why everyone was upset about a simple blow job. After she had talked to her client, she had a better idea. Like I said before, I really don't care if he got a blow job every day and saved samples for Hillary. When he got caught, he should have owned up to it, instead of trying to redefine sex and cheating. Not sure how you get jealousy from that.

Oh and for the record, when I hear the name Clinton, I don't think of sex, I think of NAFTA. Too bad he wasn't getting something that day.
