I don't particularly view Clinton as laudable for his dancing around the subject. I just feel that it wasn't the defining moment of his presidency. I also feel that there were a lot of things about that whole matter that wasn't too kosher, on every side.

As for kids not knowing that oral sex is sex, perhaps that would be less of a problem if sex education was taught properly and not just from an abstinence based perspective.

Man Arrested for Throwing Tomatoes at Sarah Palin, Police Say FOXNews.com

The incident happened during a book signing at the Mall of America in Minnesota.

A man was arrested for allegedly throwing two tomatoes at Sarah Palin from the second floor balcony during a book signing event at the Mall of America in Minnesota, MyFoxTwinCities.com. reported.

Neither tomato came close hitting the former 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, but did hit a police officer in the face, the station reported.

The unidentified man may face charges for assaulting a police officer, according to the station.

Shame it wasn't a cream pie.

slvemike4u -> RE: Maybe Palin is learning to be a politician (12/10/2009 9:04:20 AM)

Would that have improved the man's aim.......do pies ,perhaps thrown as a discus would be,lead to more direct hits than tomatoes...which can be thrown as one would a baseball?
Difficult question....

mnottertail -> RE: Maybe Palin is learning to be a politician (12/10/2009 9:09:54 AM)

Had there been snow at the time, he probably wouldn't have missed, the ballistics of tomatoes are somewhat nebulous.

slvemike4u -> RE: Maybe Palin is learning to be a politician (12/10/2009 9:11:52 AM)

I think if one chooses the pie option....one must get real close.
Snowballs are good....all one really need do is get in touch with their inner child.....every kid knows how to throw a snowball!

Its funny that he hit a cop right in the face. His hate will get him a felony conviction, with all the trimmings...

Yes, it's so absolutely hilarious that my sides are splitting from laughing so hard.

Maybe not-
I heard Mr. Olsen will mount a defense of "looking forward, not backward"; based on the premise that we should not dwell on the past and be divisive, but instead look to the future, and avoid the old mistakes. Peggy Noonan will be called to testify about the "we should just keep on walking" theory.

Mr. Olsen's attorney will produce a legal opinion written before the incident, whereby the his legal advisor laid out a legal theory that gives American citizens the right to throw tomatoes at public officials. Based on this legal advice, the Mr. Olsen will assert that he is immune from prosecution, based on the notion that this prosecution would be "ciminalizing policy differences" and that he acted in good faith based on his understanding of these legal opinions. John Yoo, David Addington, Jonah Goldberg and the gang at National Review will be called to defend this theory.

Finally, Mr. Olsen's legal council will assert that he is in fact, a former member of the CIA, and as such invoke the State Secrets doctrine, that matters of national security may be disclosed during trial, and therefore the case cannot be held. The fact that the CIA will refuse to either acknowledge nor deny that Mr. Olsen ever worked for them, will be asserted as evidence that his work was of such sensitive nature, that he is in fact a covert agent.

All in all, the case is rather murky and complicated, and really, should just be thrown out of court entirely.
