Status: offline 		Mystery spiral of light in night sky stuns Norwegians

The mystery began when a blue light seemed to soar up from behind a mountain in the north of the country. It stopped mid-air, then began to move in circles. Within seconds a giant spiral had covered the entire sky.



Whatever it was, it's beautiful. Any guesses?

Status: offline 		I saw that on the news tonight and wondered what it was, too.  Apparently thats the $10,000,000.00 question being asked by all!  Your link said possibly northern lights (then later in the same article said scientists dismissed that).  If it wasn't for that blue light hanging down from the spiral I would be more apt to think it was northern lights too.  But northern lights seems to move in cloud like blankets or....blending swirls (not really spirals) in the sky. 

Again, later down on your link they posted something about HARP being the cause of it, but thats speculation and an accusation, not unlike some of the speculations and accusations you hear on these boards

They also suspect it could be a missile from Russia, but Russians deny that.  And I don't know about missiles either...maybe that blue tail being exhaust and the spiral being the missile spinning out of control (but thats pure speculation on my part and I don't think I really believe it, either).

I heard on the television news when I saw it then that they wondered if it could be a type of comet, or debris from space.  Obviously if it was, it wasn't still alight when it touched the ground, which would seem unlikely, but I'm no rocket scientists so who knows. 

Maybe an examination of the ground in the area it was seen in is in order.  Or then again, I dont know.  Maybe it was something celestial happening that happened in space, but for the viewing pleasure of Norway, although it seems more than Norway would see that then.  But again, I don't know.

I guess I don't have any good guesses lol.  Just alot of speculation and wonder.

But, it was a pretty thing to see for Norwegians.

Status: offline 		I saw that on the news tonight. I have absolutely no idea what the heck it was, but it's just about the strangest thing I've ever seen. I'm not sure the rotational speed looked right for a rocket spinning out of control. If they ever do figure it out, I'll sure be interested in knowing what it was.

Ha! Yeah well, there's that too! But what I was thinking was, I seem to remember lights in the sky being an occasional phenomenon over areas of the Earth that were experiencing extreme tectonic or other deep-undergound stresses. As best I recall, there was speculation that it might be some kind of electrostatic phenomenon.

Those were nothing like this, but it occurred to me that something really really big going on in the Earth's crust might produce a much more spectacular display. And if more of these appear, I'm going to start to wonder if they could be a sign of some kind of major (as in fucking major) Earth changes building up to happen.

Status: offline 		What is it, well, I would like to think natural phenomena, but just can't help but think someone fucking about with something they shouldn't. Just because something can be done, it is not an indication it should be done.

Oh, regarding crop circles, science has apparently discovered instances of meteororic iron with them, just thougth I would throw that one in seeing as this topic possibly stands to go weird.

It says it happened when the thing hit the treetops. So maybe a UFO crash, eh?
