I saw that on the news tonight and wondered what it was, too. Apparently thats the $10,000,000.00 question being asked by all! Your link said possibly northern lights (then later in the same article said scientists dismissed that). If it wasn't for that blue light hanging down from the spiral I would be more apt to think it was northern lights too. But northern lights seems to move in cloud like blankets or....blending swirls (not really spirals) in the sky. Again, later down on your link they posted something about HARP being the cause of it, but thats speculation and an accusation, not unlike some of the speculations and accusations you hear on these boards They also suspect it could be a missile from Russia, but Russians deny that. And I don't know about missiles either...maybe that blue tail being exhaust and the spiral being the missile spinning out of control (but thats pure speculation on my part and I don't think I really believe it, either). I heard on the television news when I saw it then that they wondered if it could be a type of comet, or debris from space. Obviously if it was, it wasn't still alight when it touched the ground, which would seem unlikely, but I'm no rocket scientists so who knows. Maybe an examination of the ground in the area it was seen in is in order. Or then again, I dont know. Maybe it was something celestial happening that happened in space, but for the viewing pleasure of Norway, although it seems more than Norway would see that then. But again, I don't know. I guess I don't have any good guesses lol. Just alot of speculation and wonder. But, it was a pretty thing to see for Norwegians.
