I keep it a good rule to notice how an individual treats everyone around them. Are they selective? Are they generally polite? What kind of personal standards does this individual keep and what about those standards is obvious without being off-putting?

My boi is the very definition of "rough edge" and yet I find that those who know My boi know that she keeps her personal standards pretty well known and is happy to explain why and where she's coming from. It's part of what was so appealing in the first place. And I think there's a difference between that and a general poor attitude about "everyone else can go kiss my ass". It's a fine line but a distinct one.

Watching these standards of behavior are pretty important because if a person is willing to indiscriminately treat others poorly and you haven't gotten that end of it yet...well, that's exactly what's going on. You just haven't been in the cross-hairs of that bad attitude. Yet.

Oh dear - Well... I looked it up in the dictionary (nothing) and the urban dictionary... It seems "snut" is in fact an urban word, but it is rather appropriate here...

lol Sunshinemiss! Hey... I knew that! hehe So not! Gotta love this dementia... you think you know, but you don't know because you are unsure and then you find out... you had heard that or knew that somewhere in your noggin... so you kinda knew what you weren't sure you knew and the cycle begins! (I make funny faces when I do it too!)

I think I need Oz for a new brain...

Thank you! lol

Drifa, i can relate, my problem is... as funny as it is (and it is[;)]) most of my stupidity and ignorance isn't "willingly"[:(]
EDITED TO ADD: but i'm a DAMN fast learner!

And I have no problems with people who are trying but may not have all the facts, or who have genuine slow learning or whatever. The people who are presented with information and reject opening their mind to anything, or (for instance) perfectly intelligent women who ACT STUPID ON PURPOSE, ARRGGGHHHH!!! Or worse, the people who know they are uneducated and underinformed and are proud of that fact, as if it makes them somehow "more authentic".

I respect people who believe differently than I do. You and I often approach topics at very different angles and have some divergent opinions. But you don't trip my "willfully stupid" meter because you obviously do think and consider.  Divergent opinions may stir me to debate. Willful stupidity activates the "Urge to Kill" balloon over my head (remember the old They'll Do It Every Time cartoons?)

*i don't think i have started a thread on the Mistress board before so be gentle! LOL*
A guy s-type said something to me that got me thinking....

He said,
"Tell you the truth Candy...the only fear i have on these message boards would be of inadvertently ticking off the one I came here to find.....a Domme...so I tread carefully around the Dommes...anyone else...well they can kiss my ....oh well you get the idea."

my question: Do you look at how they treat JUST you? Does how an s-type treat others matter?  As long as they were polite to you and/or other D-types?

Thank you Ladies in advance for your time and consideration.[;)]

For me, it goes further than just the way he treats people. I mean anyone can give anyone the lip service. It is a means to an end. It is about genuine respect and kindness he gha deep down. I like a boy who deep down has a genuine respect for human kind, gives people the benefit of the doubt and avoids catty or petty behaviour.

allthatjaz -> RE: Your Opinion Please... (12/12/2009 2:26:55 PM)

If I was looking for an s type male on here, then I would be looking for someone who could interact well at all levels. What I would not be looking for is someone who overly polite to fem Dommes but interacted at a normal level with everyone else. Basically I would want a man who treated everyone equally because that way his submission to me and me alone would mean so much more.
I expect to be polite to all the people I meet and I expect people to be polite back regardless of them being submissive or dominant. A submissive male that has the confidence to joke with me and show a strength of mind is very attractive.

dunno. Whats a snut?

Snotty is often a synonym for snooty or snobbish :P

A snut, i guess, would be a snobby nut *chuckle* :P

Was that some type of unwarranted dig?

Venatrix -> RE: Your Opinion Please... (12/13/2009 6:55:27 AM)

Oh, good heavens, no.  When I'm making a dig at someone, it's always warranted.  In this case, it wasn't a dig at all.

Oh no kidding, watching how folks treat waitstaff is a BIG clue!! That is one of the reasons I like to go out to diners and such, and see how they behave. And, watch if they eat with their mouths closed. [8|]

lol! Oh please, you just hate to cook!! But yet another good excuse to go out to eat [;)]

In answer to the question, yes I do pay attention to how others act and behave on the forums. I am guilty of a few mistakes myself as people DO have bad days on here, but when it is consistant and it is always the same old shit, new day, then yes I am prepared to stay clear of that kind of poster. I especailly hate it when my friends get dissed. Say something bad about my Amiga's and I am all over ya like a spider monkey! Say something bad about others who I have met in r/t I will be the first to take a hit for defending them.

QueenRah -> RE: Your Opinion Please... (12/14/2009 3:40:51 PM)

Oh, sigh. The problem with coming to such a great thread so late in the day is that just about everything I might have had to add has already been stated and discoursed upon. (Loving what everyone has said!)

While I, myself, want to be accorded respect as a human being, complete with my own nicely packaged set of foibles, I don't look for obsequiousness. It seems to me that there's sometimes a confusion between the two definitions.

QueenRah
