I wouldn't worry about it, anyone who is going to get upset or offended by that, needs a life.

FR-

Things like bolding, italics, underlining even changing font colors are fine. Several people here have one screen name but are two people, the OP and Mercnbeth are good examples of that. They each post in a different color which I find wonderfully helpful. Helps me to know who is "speaking."

I will say that if someone actually told you that the example you gave was offensive, THEY have a problem, not you. You shouldn't be worried about offending someone for something so petty. I know that I do not capitalize "dom" or "master" when typing because I am rarely using it as a proper noun. It isn't someone's name and in any case, they are not MY dom or master. I'm sure that offends many. I type a person's screen name as they have it unless it is all caps, but that's just me.

Now if you were doing one of those AlTeRnAtInG upper and lower cases, I would still not say it was "offensive" just annoying, and I probably wouldn't read the post. Same if someone changes font colors so frequently (like every other word), uses a font that is difficult to read because it is too small, or a color that is difficult to see. Not "offensive" but it makes the reading so difficult that I will just ignore the post. Likewise for the whole I/i slashy speak, it drives me crazy and if the post is so full of it that my eyes start to strain, whatever the poster says becomes irrelevant.

I try to type in just simple, normal english. I don't follow any unwritten BDSM posting guidelines and don't intend to start. I will admit though that when I do see something in ALL CAPS, my mind translates it as shouting and I get a headache. Go figure.

THAT'S RIDICULOUS.

That's not an offensive font.

Comic Sans is an offensive font.

Seconded.

Something happened on another thread that made me curious.... If i say (type) ....

Not
ALL men are D-types, rather, SOME men are D-types, and some are not.

and then, if i were to say (type) it this way....

Not all men are D-types, rather, some men are D-types, and some are not.

Is the 1st sentence offensive because of the way i used font? Are they both offensive because of the font style, and the 1st is just more offensive because of large font?

I do not see either one as offensive as they are not directed at me and even if they were, I don't get excited simply because of a font size. my concern would be the content of the post or email

Using FR

Youse people are nuts, no wonder I like it here. Now at first you got me thinking of naked body poses that represent the letters. Now come on that is a reasonable assumption is it not ? So I come in to this thread and I find that not only is it vastly different than what I expected, this topic might actually have more potential.

Now first of all to respond in topic, a definition of offensive must be had. I hope people don't summarily dismiss others' opinions based solely on grammar and spelling and what might be termed "litographic diplomacy".

Language is a required art, thus possibly defining it as a skill then, but the art of expressing one's self is important. Now let's take a quick moment and pick the logic apart :

Question one : Why do you talk ?

Question two : Why do you type or write ?

The answer, which is express yourself, begets another question, welcome to life. Why do you express yourself ?

To be understood.

Now, back to the DC Al fine.

I can't explain why all these opinions exist, but it is not good to mix vastly different font sizes in the same line. It variates the spacing and makes it less easy to read. All caps have the same effect. A bit different flavor but generally the same thing. Color schemes are a bad idea, when you make someone's eyes water with yellow text on a white background, they will not be impelled no matter how persuasive your words. They will not have read them.

And that's the point.

T

No. The pink is very easy to read. When I started reading the above, I thought it was from Mike. You have sent a precedent of whose font is what color. Pink is visible and easy to read. If it were a problem, someone would have politely mentioned it already.

I prefer black font most of the time, but posting in 2 colors (1 for each) helps when the profile belongs to a couple. Honestly, after all this time, seeing you post in black font is almost disturbing, lol.

No! Because I don't recognize you! It's profoundly unsettling.

Schtick wit' da pink if dat's what ya like. I never had any problem reading it, and I doubt anyone else did either. It always displayed fine on both of my computers.

I typically agree, but Gypsy's posts are an exception for me. It's her natural way of expressing herself, and I've learned to read her font changes and color changes as though they're an additional layer of communication in and of itself. I'd miss it if she ever went mainstream.

The only way that a font can offensive is if its hard to read [Like this] Other than that it doesn't matter. Anybody who would say they are offended by your choice of font is either a liar or a damned fool, either way seems to me a good measure to euse when deciding to pay any attention to somebody.

Your personality comes though your pink lettering and it becomes easier to read. However signing "candy" in pink is a good idea, and the body of the post in black only because it is less straining on the eyeballs.

I dont see a problem with emotionality in a post. I love it. Bring on the emotionality!

Content is big for me. If someone is bolding something I am aligned with, I am experiencing a similar response, I enjoy the way it is written.

If it is something I am not aligned with and it is unusually fonted and colored, or too wordy and complicated, I move on to the next interesting post.

Many of the posters here may say the things I feel, or say it so much more cleverly and funnier than I could say the same thing.

I think it is pretty adorable for you to ask OP, which sentence is more annoying. So cute.
