Aspirin is an anticoagulant... it will tend to make bruising worse. If the skin's not split, ice packs 15 minutes on, 20 minutes off is the best way to minimize swelling and reduce pain. The next day you can do anti inflammatory medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen. By day thre you can go to warm packs to encourage circulation to break up the bruise.

Only once. Every now and again I'll get a blood blister, particularly if two strokes cross.

I can't hold position during a caning, and I live in East Jesus on a small farm, so we throw an Australian saddle over the whipping stand and I'm restrained across that. That adds he safety feature that I'm not going to jerk wrong as the cane comes down and accidentally catch it across the kidneys or someplace else I don't want it. The saddle itself also provides a "stop" so if my Lady were to slip on a stroke it won't go too deep as the cane will hit the cantle and stop before going very deep..

When we were setting up the tack shed for canings, we both watched a number of videos of judicial canings and talked carefully about the very real damage you can get in a caning. Our joint goal is to get me to work at my desk job 9-5, M-F, so that sharply limits how much damage my Lady will administer where I sit!  We both agree that cuts and blood blisters are to be avoided, though a bit of bruise is nice as a reminder after.

I'm not a fan of caning in general. The sting is too concentrated over one patch of flesh that tends to get hit over and over. I much prefer a whip, which stings a lot but burns delightfully as the pain fades and the top tends to strike all over my body.

Other people love being canned though. It's just a matter of personal preference.

Yeah... I'm gonna have to completely disagree here. Last time I looked, I didn't have a checklist that I have to complete to say I'm serious about BDSM. Must not have gotten the memo.

Not everyone is into pain, giving or receiving. Not everyone needs to experience caning. Nor does every caning result in bruising.

I absolutely love being caned. The range of sensations that are available from being caned are one of the things that I love about it, depending on the cane being used it can be very sharp and stingy or alternatively it can be thuddy and bruising. I love both at different times and there have been times when I've been taken completely by surprise when expecting one type of sensation only to experience the exact opposite. I experienced an evil little synthetic cane recently and even that was enjoyable in its own way.

The site of the Domme flexing the cane in her hands and then the sound as it is swished through the air is almost enough to send me into a dream.

On my back, stomach, arse and legs, preferably with a bit of warm up, hell yeah. On my breasts makes me feel a bit sick, but I can tolerate it.

Those who said they like it on the soles of their feet must be way more hardcore than I am, I think last time someone did that to me I was pretty close to dislocating my own shoulder trying to wriggle out of bondage, crying and begging like a baby.

I like it to an extent. My previous Dom LOVED to administer the cane. He especially loved to strike the same spot over and over again. I was also not allowed to make much noise, and had to hold a certain position (on all fours with my head up)... that was hard, having to keep the mental composure not to drop my head down.
I'd rather be caned on my butt than my breasts or the soles of my feet.

The cane is my most favorite torture instrument to be honest. I feel I get much precision with it and I really can get many results. Lighter tapping can be used to create warming sensations of a more sensual nature and redden skin nicely. Again, wielded properly, it can deliver quite the whack and can be quite painful, so much to make a big tough boy cry.

I'm personally very fond of my bamboo cane (see my avatar picture). It is flexible and thin and mean ;--) It also leave gorgeous marks.

My preference is caning on bottoms, thighs and calves. I've used it moderately on cock and balls (tough I prefer to torture those with my hands). i love love love caning. i love pain, so caning has the added benefit of hurting for several days afterward. i love the little reminders of a wonderful caning every time i sit down in the following days.

i feel the same. i love it erotic and senuous. i am not into alot of pain. Neither is my Owner. So, all fear went out the window when he used it on me for the first time and it felt good.

i also don;t know if it makes any difference, but this was handmade by him and it;s the only one he has ever used on me.

If you Owner isn't into a lot of pain, then he's probably doing more tapping and light swats and isn't really using the cane to its full potential. Just google judicial caning (shudders).

Don't get me wrong, I love the cane for it's flexibility, but one must be aware that it can be a very powerful and dangerous instrument and not just erotic and sensuous.

Depends...after my first caning from C-Dom in 2005 it did hurt and caused discomfort to sit down for about 2 weeks...strangely the years afterwards I still had the feeling that on some days I would feel it again (the marks the cane left at that time).

Now I received a caning from him again last december after we havent met for over 3 years...I was bruised far worse then the first time and some people who know the pictures from it said he would have gone too far...however, what was strange for me, was that it did not hurt a lil bit sitting down on it this time...

I remember when my ex-girlfriend and I first used the cane, I was afraid I was going to use it too hard and just slice her bottom open like a ripe fruit. The only place I do like it is my feet. There it's a great foot massage, not painful. Anyplace else it just hurts.
