I have my daughters for the weekend and am all prepared to be snowed in. We will be baking Christmas cookies all day tomorrow and sledding. I'm only sad because he's down at the shore for the weekend and they're supposed to get even more snow and I want to be with him and I've always wanted to take pictures of a snow covered beach...

I'm already thinking about moving back to Florida from NC. [:(] I've been thinking about this a lot today. I have to weigh the pros of the fantastic people I've gotten to know here, minus the cold temps, against what I remember life was like, plus the warmer weather back in Tampa. Can I stand a couple of months of on and off somewhat freezing temps? It was 70 degrees a couple of days ago, now it's about 35 F. Snow? I didn't buy in for that.

Northern Virginia checking in here.......it's 10:42 p.m. EST as I type this, and the snow started approximately an hour and a half ago. The school I attend on Friday nights dismissed us an hour early and they expect to be be closed tomorrow, yay! On the way home, it seemed like the roads (I-66) got worse the further west I got, but they were pretty much only wet and slushy as I followed a horizontal convoy of salt trucks for a few miles. The predictions are 12-14" with as much as 2" an hour expected to pile up. Right now there's about an inch, but coming down pretty heavily. Someone almost slid into me as I was rounding the corner right outside my house, which would have really pissed me off so close to home.... other than that, it was an uneventful trip. I have restocked the toilet paper shelf, so I'm good to go for the next day or two snowed in. [:)]

Geez! And here I was all excited that I might be able to pass you along some names if you were actually going to NC. There's some great folks up that way. Not just Aquatic, whom I've seen but not officially met, but a long list of others. My little corner of the world is a bit cooler than yours. Officially just under 50 degrees since the sun went down.

I have to admit it. This is my 5th winter in Arizona and I still enjoy keeping track of the weather in the north in the places we spend the warm months. Mid 70s and sunny while napping around the swimming pool seems so much nicer when it's -15 in Montana.

I am loving the lack of snow here in frigid Ontario. I love being without snow yet. Last year I had a mountain of it already. On the Biscotti tip, I made 5 kinds last year. It is a great way to go. Not this year though. Making fudge, Orange cranberry sauce and likely some cookies of some nature too. I like moderate weather. I get afraid in the storms for loved ones driving on the highway makes me nervous. I am always so glad when everyone shows up alive and well. I do like four seasons. It occurred to me the other day we mostly have two. Summer and winter. Not that much of spring and fall.
