Heh heh. Having grown up in NE Ohio in the snow belt (like Buffalo, only the lake effect snow was from Lake Erie), it's great to live in an area where an inch is considered a snow emergency! [:D]

[:D] We're making an uncharacteristic holiday pilgrimage to the motherland in PA and they are forecasting snow for the entire time we will be there which the teen unit is thrilled about. I had my share growing up and like you I enjoy the relatively snow-free environs I now inhabit. I can grill outside at Christmas. I just can't do it in shorts and a t-shirt. That the OP has plans to defect to Italy tells me all I need to know about California.

My brother in MD is staying in bed because its too damn cold for him. He needs to go ahead and move to Tampa so I won't have to listening to his bitching. But then, he is due to go to Afghanistan on the 22rd. I heard its even colder there!!!

Tonight...Snow. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Lows around 20. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

Hasn't started yet but they swear total accumulation by tomorrow afternoon will be 5 -8. I demanded the teen come home so he can be here to shovel. He wanted to wait till it started but I don't think people should drive in it.
