I did back up my statement. Try reading a bit beyond your own words.

Still no ability to respond.

I'll compound your problems.

Currently a percentage of Medicare claims expense is paid, not by the Federal government but, by the States. Once these Federal Medicare cuts are implemented every state, except the secessionist Nebraska, will have to make up for the shortfall. Where, in any of the opinion sources you sited, is that FACT considered in the calculations that the net effect of this Bill will be zero, in tax and in direct cost, to the end users?

The anticipated impact on one State - New York:

quote:

The Senate health care bill would cost New York between $1.1 billion and $1.25 billion a year, according to Gov. Paterson's office. Gov. Paterson, Mayor Bloomberg and other officials warned the Senate plan would:

- Force the city to close 100 health clinics.

- Blow a $1 billion hole in the state's budget.

- Threaten struggling hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities.

- New York State, which covers half its Medicaid costs now, will keep covering half under the Senate bill.

- Most other states will get 100% federal aid for three years and 82% to 95% thereafter. Nebraska gets 100% forever.

- New York City would lose funding for about 100 community health clinics and would have to close them, Mayor Bloomberg says.

- The Medicaid cuts would force a 15% reduction in payments to providers - including hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies and community clinics - New York House Democrats say.

- The House plan would cut $2.6 billion over 10 years from reimbursements to New York hospitals for treating people who cannot pay their bills.- The Senate bill cuts $5.5 billion, according to the Health Care Association of New York

rofl.. took me a while to find out what the hell you were talking about with Nebraska. Since they are proposing to suceed next year, or at least introduce their intent to do so, i dont see how, if they do succeed, they will continue to get any government funding.

...............

Fox News host Sean Hannity welcomed Nebraska State Senators Tony Fulton and Mark Christensen to his show last night. They appeared to talk about an undrafted resolution they hope to introduce in the Legislature next year asserting the state's sovereignty from the federal government under the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Evidently not quite extremist enough for the show's rabid right-wing audience, Hannity introduced Fulton and Christensen as Nebraska lawmakers "raising the possibility of secession in reaction to President Obama's heavy-handed policies."

This inteview on Fox News follows a report in last Sunday's Omaha World-Herald on this proposed (undrafted) resolution by Fulton, Christensen, and fellow State Senator Ken Schilz. Of course, the central question at the issues heart went unasked by the World-Herald and Fox News - and certainly wasn't answered by Fulton or Christensen. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're not so crazy that they'd actually propose Nebraska secede from the Union - much to Hannity's dismay - they still can't explain why they won't just stop accepting federal money when it comes with strings attached they're not willing to accept.

That's ultimately what this is all about. Fulton's even on the Legislature's Appropriations Committee, and he didn't seem to mind one bit doling out every dollar our state could get from the federal stimulus package. Now, he wants to make an empty gesture of feigned independence that's not just disingenuous and politically-motivated - but also downright insulting to those who went out on a limb with taxpayers dollars to bail-out our state goverments for the sake of the economy and our children's futures.

Fulton and Christensen want the benefits of that money without taking any responsibility for it. In fact, they're publicly pointing fingers at the federal govenment for being intrusive while making hand-outs behind closed doors with a wink and a smile.

Such blatant hypocrisy is sickening enough even when it's not played up for the cameras and celebrated before a national audience. But, here, it's downright intolerable and leaves me embarrased that our state's been so poorly represented.

And while Congress has specified deep cuts in Medicare reimbursements for medical service providers, if implemented as intended, the cuts in physician payments will induce more doctors to treat fewer Medicare-funded patients. Conversely, if the cuts in doctor pay are rescinded, the new law will provide another huge addition to the national debt. And many of the proposed tax increases may also prove politically infeasible, such as the hike in the Medicare payroll tax, and an array of taxes on medical devices, prescription brand drugs and insurance companies which will only inflate insurance premiums.

The cuts arent being rescinded. They are going through as scheduled.

Concessions are still coming, willbe, the final bill is not drafted. Tell me... do you have a star or not?

If the final bill is not nearly identical to the Senate bill, it will never pass.

A star? Dont know what you are referring to.
