HERE.... is a little older poll...but a much better one with tons and tons of information...not only the questions asked but the demographics of the people asked...take the time to read it and forget your rag of a poll.

OK< nobody on here can dispute my liberal credentials (unless I'm too left to be just a liberal), but to be honest I am not totally convinced, nor have I ever been, that global warming is entirely caused by human actions. The earth's climate has changed many times, and quite rapidly at that. I am willing to admit that human activity may be contributing to the rate of warming, and I will agree with Brain that it can't possibly be a bad thing to stop polluting, but just to lay to rest the left right aspect of this particular issue....

You continue to ignore or are unaware of the battle for tenure, prestige and status amonst scientists in the research communities as an impetus to seek favorable grants. How much disfavor does a scientist gain if he fails to bring in research grants to his institution? Quite a lot I think. Research is greased by money. Administrator salaries are tied to it. Boards of Directors pay special attention. Status goes to him/her who brings it in.

I'm not ignoring it, I just think it is a weak argument to presuppose those who invest their life's work in science are more concerned with their prestige and status than the work itself.

Rule, "denial" is not a river in Egypt.
They have "deprogramers" who help people get out of cults.
What did the "warmers" promise you, *75* virgins?
"Global warming" is an Anal-Retentive's dream! Or is it "Anal Retentive?" Or "anal retentive?"
It's something they can really "latch on to" or, "clamp down on."
They'd be able to, "rearrange the silverware of life" forever!
The road to recovery begins with the First Step; "Admitted to God, myself and another human being that I have a problem with"............"
I expect to see 12 Step Programs popping up all over the country for this malady.
Hang in there Rule, you can make it!

Thats a pendulum shift you're sensing, rml. Prior to the election last year Obama won a lot of Independents' support because he ran as a fiscal conservative who also promised bipartisanship and healing, and that he would kick the lobbyists and other special interest groups out of Washington. He denied being a socialist, too.

But what is he delivering? That is key.

These people are Independents, and Obama and the rest of the Democrats are alienating them with record speed.

Well golly gee Popeye, but why do all the "Independents" on here sound exactly like conservative Republicans?

Issues with experts, scientific research, grants, tenure, etc., were covered rather eloquently in the 2001 work of Rampton and Stauber*, titled "Trust Us, We're Experts." I consider it to be a vitally important read. Because I'm an expert my opinion on this counts. You can trust me on this.

....oh for petes sake. No-one is arguing that only human activity is causing global warming.

Of course the climate changes naturally. It has a cycle. If you own a pushbike you can make your own demonstration of this. Find a nice stretch of straight quiet road, and pedal along while gently steering left then right. You'll describe a nice wavy line down the road, a line that can be seen as analagous to natural climate change. It's essentially a stable cycle.
Now, because the real argument is that human activity has accelerated the natural rate of climate change...... get back on your bike......steer as suggested earlier for a bit then steer really hard left (or right depending on your political preference) and tell me how stable that makes the bike.

Well, that's one election promise the cunt's lived up to, then.
