osf -> new definition of slave (12/27/2009 8:34:32 AM)

well maybe new today

a woman that freely sets aside the free exercise of her rights and accepts the decisions of another

littlewonder -> RE: new definition of slave (12/27/2009 8:54:33 AM)

How is this new?? <scratches head>

Justme696 -> RE: new definition of slave (12/27/2009 8:54:50 AM)

you mean a sub?

NihilusZero -> RE: new definition of slave (12/27/2009 8:56:57 AM)

Not bad, actually. Just make it gender-neutral and it's rather applicable.

(And perhaps make it clear that you are speaking of "slave" in a WIITWD context, lest any historical purists complain.)

sometimes i'm not sure what i mean, but the words sound as though i do

NihilusZero -> RE: new definition of slave (12/27/2009 8:58:20 AM)

Not really. His quick definition gives the implication that the yielding ("of rights") is happening in a comprehensive manner, in which case "slave" is more applicable than "sub".

i'm just biased like that

Jeffff -> RE: new definition of slave (12/27/2009 8:59:52 AM)

It is possible that this will finally put and end to the sub Vs slave threads. For that alone I would thank you.

I like your "new" definition of:  submissive.

a woman that that almost sets aside the free exercise of her rights and accepts the decisions of another

Lashra -> RE: new definition of slave (12/27/2009 9:29:59 AM)

My definition of a slave is a male or female who freely gives over total authority of themselves to another.

Works for me.

Replace the word "almost" with "selectively" and (save for the gender thing) you're pretty much set again.

There goes ten pages of posts into the trashbin...

BTW, what would be the natural unit to measure the frequency with which this term is redefined?

Jargon updates per page? Cluster fucks per week? Tufts (of hair) per new user per unread page? Kilobytes per day?

Health,
al-Aswad.

So does "setting aside the free exercise of her rights" describe a sub where for a slave it would be, "SURRENDERING her rights completely to the decisions of another?"

perhaps.. if you read deep into it ..yes
