popeye1250 -> RE: The Airline Security System Works; It Really Does! (12/28/2009 2:08:59 PM)

I'm listening to the radio and they played a sound bite of Napolitano saying that the system worked flawlessly. Then another soundbite; "The system failed miserably!" Which is it? And the radio host said that Napolitano could be possably a candidate for the supreme court should a vacancy occur. She doesn't know what the hell she's talking about! Man, we're in trouble! Has anyone in here read the book "The Peter Principle?" I read it I think back in the 70's, and is it ever true! Why does this keep happening in government? I think the only logical conclusion any intelligent person can reach is that we're simply getting the wrong type of people in government. Or could it be that government "attracts" these kind of people? They write "rules and regulations" that do nothing but inconvienience people and won't profile people! If there was ever a guy who profiling would have caught it was that Nigerian. He flew from Amsterdam, no luggage, one-way ticket, paid cash, had business cards on his person that said "Soldier of Allah" and a bunch of other things! What the hell is it that causes people with a lot of "degrees" to become *fucking stupid?* Common sense escapes them. And to want to bring that stupidity with them into government? I think the main problem with "degrees" is that people are *way too young* when they get them! They have no experience, no *common sense*, how much common sense or life experience is someone between the ages of 20-30 going to bring to the table? And look at Napolitano, she's a lawyer and a former governor, how does that qualify her or *anyone* to be head of homeland security? I mean wouldn't you want someone with a military or police or CIA background in a position like that and not a "political appointee?" If I needed an accountant I wouldn't hire an electrician to do my books. As I've said before, lawyers just aren't good managers. That's not what they were trained to do. And the talk show host just said Obama, (another lawyer) said he wants to go after al qeada and bring them to "trial." What, a hundred thousand al qeada savages sworn publically that they intend to kill us and he's interested in protecting their "rights" in trials? Do we even have enough judges, lawyers, courtrooms to handle all that? Everyone in the U.S. would have been on an "al qeada jury" if that happens. For your next read get "The Peter Principle". It's so true it's scary.
