Status: offline 		I almost derailed a General thread but remembered just in time to file this question in the right place.

I hear sub women talking a lot about something called "sub frenzy." I don't understand the phenomenon very well; although a sub woman myself, it isn't something I recognize having experienced before. But it could be I'm just haven't made the connection with what the term is describing. I was wondering if submissive men have this feeling as well, or if this is a gender-specific emotion? And does it express itself in the same way as the submissive woman's version?

Status: offline 		I think some of them come pre-loaded with a version of sub frenzy, yes. That desire to latch on to any dominant female, claim a "relationship" when all you have had is a casual conversation, saying I WANT TO SERVE to all and sundry... yeah, I call that frenzy. Or selfishness, or objectification of women. I think it's also a chance for men to have some nasty experiences for the sake of having ANY experiences.

Status: offline 		I have never seen (or heard) a definition for sub frenzy that made reference to gender, so I'm gonna assume that gender doesn't matter.

Status: offline 		I'm not sure what the exact definition of "sub frenzy" is. If it's like Lady Hibs definition, I don't relate too much. If it's more of a "lit fire" type emotion that drives us to complete willingness for experiencing things we normally would not (wanting our limits pushed), then yes, I've been there, and am there now.......

As a matter of fact, I haven't either. What I have seen is only sub women mention it, so I wondered if sub men went through it as well.

Hmm. If it is an emotion that drives us to willingness to experience things we normally would not, then I have experienced it too.

Ok, I think you're describing what I've heard described, particularly the desire or need to have submissive experiences (or more) and have them fast, without carefully considering the circumstances or consequences of doing so.

Status: offline 		From what I know, I have to say that males do experience what most people call sub frenzy just the same as their female counterparts.  This goes for two areas that seem to be most prominent off of the top of My head being folks who fall into the masochist and service categories.  There really are males out there who crave these activities just as much as some females do. 

I'm not saying here that I don't disagree with what LadyH is saying above.  I do think that some males have fewer opportunities than their female counterparts and it leads to exactly what she is saying, if the male in question does not know how to channel his energies.

Are you saying that due to general frustration at not getting their needs met, some male submissives will become willing to serve anyone or do anything, even things they might under better circumstances think twice about, just to have some submissive experiences at all?

Status: offline 		I think you get what LP and I were driving at. So many male "submissives" are so wrapped up in their desire for fantasy fulfillment that they latch on to the first person who says YES, not really scoping the situation out fully. Safety? What's that??

The other group: the ones who just want their kink scratched, and will do the same latch on to the first one, and every one. They get ripped off, they get injured, physically and emotionally, and of course they get a skewed picture of what the "lifestyle" can be about.

In some cases, yes I am saying that.  It's not universal by any means and I don't even think it applies only to one gender.  I'm not trying to paint anyone out there with an unkind brush, but I can say that I've seen it often enough in My own personal experience to identify it.

I would agree with the sex toy and/or pet category.  Another is those who crave ownership so badly that they literally don't care who would own them, so long as they felt that type of security.  That drive exists in males just as it does some female submissives. 

In addition to those, you might want to look up some posts that have been made by Undergroundsea on the various components of the submissive male.  He has done wonderful writings on the subject and I think better explains the various drives in submission, which could be seen as a parallel to the subject.

An interesting question Caring, and I wonder where it will lead. First, I don't know of any sub categories that are unique to either gender. Seems to be the same drama for both when it comes to submission..... that desire to surrender in whatever form.

I have heard the word frenzy used to describe the psychosexual need during the "high" swing of bipolar personality. Seems to me that would not be gender specific nor role specific, i.e. s or D. Why else would a person be in a frenzy? The word "frenzy" is a very powerful term, imo. I would not treat it lightly. I do not mean to disparage bipolar personality here. For some it is a very serious problem. For others not so much. So, my question back to you is are these subs who talk about sub frenzy in a stable condition (for lack of a better word)

Playing at kink clubs in the past, I have found it quite dangerous to play with strangers. I have often found that there were ladies claiming to be Dommes who were just there for their jollies and had no idea of protocal. And I would bet that applies to male Doms as well. I guess I am saying being in a frenzy and willing to serve anyone and do anything is damn edgy.

My own sub was like this. He was rather unceremoniously released, and for months had that URGE to be owned, to have that feeling again. Good thing I am such a hardass.

I do quantify "subfrenzy" as a negative thing because it involves a suspension of good judgement. It's not the same as the enthusiasm of a new relationship, where the exploration is exciting and rewarding. It is that desperation for a fix, no matter where it comes from.

Let Me tell you about a running gag/bet that I have with My other half.  It's been going on for five or six years now.  To date, I haven't lost yet.  The bet is that I can go to any club, any where, whether people know Me or not, and without anyone knowing a thing about Me, and I will have play opportunities.  In all that time, I've yet to be proven wrong.

Now, I do want to reassure you that, because it is Me, no one has come to any harm over this.  I'm a pretty good top and I think you'd have a challenge to find anyone on these boards who would debate My skill.

But what if I wasn't?  What if I was just some chick dressed up in leather that didn't have a clue about what she was doing?  What if I didn't have a damn clue and was armed with floggers, and tails, and needles, and blades?  How safe is the practice then?

Something to think about, isn't it?

I thought it was that driven craziness to find a D type yesterday if not sooner, and be completely wreckless in instantly submitting because you crave it so intensely, sometimes ending up in bad situations and doing things one wouldn't otherwise do if they had their wits about them and their sensibilities intact.

The term taken in my lovely slave's perspective... From the topside of this relationship I can attest that, regardless of the name for what you have my lovely slave, you indeed are not impulsive nor needy. Everything about where we are today is and has always been positive. Tthe term sub frenzy to me shows his absolute willingness to submit to me because we are now of one mind, one heart, one life. Knowing this man as I do, he would never compromise his well being, for me or anyone.... It is all good.

The term taken in a negative light... I knew someone like this. He was so hell bent on being submissive to someone, to anyone that he had little regard for his own well being. This was the one and only time in my life that I actually thought it necessary to stop an encounter in a club and I did. The poor boy didn't know what hit him, literally and when I "rescued him" he glommed on for dear life, simply because I helped him and he craved submission.
