I know that everyone's vision is colored by their perspective but really, if your take on that thread was "The Goreans came in and started attacking women" then you got it SO wrong it's not even funny.

As the passage I shared from the books clearly shows, the author does NOT, in those books, display any hatred for women whatsofuckingever. The real problem here is that you are relying solely on the misinformation of fools to define "Gorean ideals" for you rather than getting the information directly yourself on what those ideals might really be. Willful ignorance & the naturally resulting xenophobia are the burdens of the person attempting to interact under their weight, not the bystanders witnessing the struggle. There are a lot of people who will claim to adhere to some standard in their lives, without any basis for it, and a lot of people who have got a different standard by a similar name. That's generally not nearly as often been the case for those who claim the label yet refrain from participating there. In any case, it might be a good idea to specify which group you're referring to in a given instance. For all I know, whoever you have in mind may have needed a good smack.
