Here's a link you might enjoy clicking, Mia

Okay, okay I looked!!
I don't think Brooke has anything on Carly Simon.

NOBODY sings You're so Vain better than Carly Simon!!!!!!!

No, she doesn't, but her video was a faster load, and I try to practice a bit of courtesy with my links...  mostly

For the purists:  http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x12adt_youre-so-vain-carly-simon_music

brooke has a stronger voice on the higher notes but totally falls apart on the lower notes.

Carly Simons voice is smooth as silk with no break

Since this IS the political and religion section I am going to put this thread HERE.

Why the HELL do certain people {usually the same people}, start threads in the Politics and Religion section like this:
Check this out, Go Here, Watch This, Read This, Look at This, with very little or no explanation given?

People that post like this are lazy posting forum fuckers.
If you are too damn busy or lazy to write a few sentences expressing whatever the hell you want us to look at or read, why the hell do you feel the need to just post links???
There I said it.

Who do you think you are, that you can just post links, videos, newspaper links, and whatever the hell else it is,
without discussing in detail what it is we should be looking at?

I realize that CollarMe is free, and you are free to do this.

I just wonder WHY people post in this manner and WHY people even look at things,
without being given any reason to.
Also, writing 1 or 2 sentences usually from the article before you post it, is also a bunch of crap.
Happy New Year

In essence I think people just want others to agree with them, or I suspect, the audience, they may not come up with the same understanding which gives rise to a person dominating with  they think their, superior knowledge.

One just gets the mental image sometimes that here is like a dim lit reading room with a bunch of old crusties sitting in their high backed chairs reading the broadsheets, they see something that interests them, they point the article out to other readers and converse about the subject, just passing the time discussing something of little importance.

But when the links start getting put out there, I lose interest, I rarely go click on the link, why, because I suppose, I am bored of them, I would rather hear what a person has to say from their mind, not others who have published work, as if the linked writer is the font of all wisdom.

If I wanted to check a persons words, I would myself go in search of the relevant information, and it occurs that what I might find might be different from what the CM author had in mind, but as with everything, there is always another perspective, nothing is hard and fast, we are not that logical.

Wouldn't even bother me half so much if they didn't all link to some wack job Glenn Beck clone yammering on about the Bilderbergs and the crypto-Commie symbols on the dollar bill.

Well, I guess i am one of those "lazy posting forum fuckers".

Not to digress, but how do you fuck a forum?   Never mind, not important.

I post links I find interesting without comment because I do not want to prejudice the initial discussion with my opinions.

It is also why I generally refrain from posting on my own threads until they take their own direction.

If you need me to explain what you are looking at I can't help you.

When this forum was still in Off Topic people used to back their opinions.

Now all we have lately is everyone babbling whatever stray thought comes into their mind with no attempt whatsoever to justify it because searching those links is really hard work.

I have never done what you discussed. And I invite people to bring it to my attention if it is something I do in the future. But I don't see it as being necessary in the future because I have never started a thread without making a comment.

The only other point I would like to make is that I have multiple sclerosis and it has caused paralysis in my fingers and I can no longer type 50 words per minute. Sometimes when it's late at night and other people are sleeping I might come across a story which I find interesting and I want to start that thread in case I forget in the morning.

That's the only time I start a thread and have very little to say and I'm talking about starting a thread with one sentence. It's because I have to use voice recognition software and because it's late at night I don't want to wake up other people who are sleeping. In the future if anybody doesn't like my threads please ignore them.

Really? Please provide an example since there are "so many" where I or other people did this. I have never started a thread without providing at least a couple of sentences but usually more.

Look Brain, you popped up and asked me a question, I gave you my opinion.
Look at half the 10  threads a day you start on here, and work it out yourself.
If YOU think you don't do it, whats da matta?

Not to mention that even when you do read the links, they sometimes turn out not to confirm whatever the person is going on about anyway... they just saw a trigger phrase and, blam, fired blind.

Brain, I had no idea.
I am so sorry, I totally understand now.
I totally apologize for any insinuations I made, and again I understand.
I feel bad.

This is a perfect example of people never knowing, what others are going through.

How does poor typing ability relate to shotgun posting?

It doesn't. Neither does not wanting to wake anyone up. He could save the shortcuts as "tomorrow-1," "tomorrow-2," etc., without having to dictate anything out loud.

I agree with both K and Heretic.

Brain is attempting to gain sympathy in order to justify what he does (or doesn't do).

I sympathize for his condition.

This in no way relieves him of his responsibilities in posting on the forums, nor causes him to post as he does.

I can't say it bothers me either way as long as at some point the op comes back to give their point of view. What I find more annoying is the various duplication of the same news or event. I think when the healthcare bill was being discussed there were various threads all basically discussing the same thing whereas it could have been confined to one or two. Similarly with the global warming email 'scandal'.

If anything what's been lacking is variation, if that variation comes in the form of one line posts with links that's fine as long as it leads to discussion. Also those moaning about lack of variation get on my nerves too because they are free to post new subjects. I guess world news has been pretty flat of late.
