I like this one better.

Me too! It's classy. Then again, I'm biased for monikers that start with Lady ;-)

"boi" is a word coined by the lesbian community to describe a young (or young looking/acting) masculine, subservient, gay female (it' s a frigging gender identity).

Really? Well then that gives Avril Lavigne`s song Sk8er Boi a whole new meaning then doesn`t it

Yes zephyr, that statement is quite accurate. In the gay community, you will always hear gay men referring to the younger gay men as "boy" From talking to many lesbian friends of mine, the common consensus is boi is a derivative they adopted for themselves to distinguish the younger, and masculine acting lesbians from the the male twinks. Don't forget that the straight community loves to take slang that us queers use and then adopt it. Also Avril is one who early in her career went through a phase where she was gender blending and pushing the envelop when it came to gender perceptions.

Oh I'm not denying it Bear, I meant what I said, it gives that song a whole new meaning, which I for one was not aware of. Of course I'm just guessing, I don't pretend to know what was in Avril's mind when she (or whoever) wrote it. I guess it didn't come through in my post but I was having a lightbulb moment.
