Want to get to know or are actually communicating with, at least on a friendship level?  Keep in mind that some folks will use that friend's list that you're displaying and ask the 'friends' if they know you.

Is that how that works? Huh. (Laughing at myself). I've never really understood the function of the friends list... it just seems... odd. But then I like to run my circle of friends like terrorist cells, with the left hand not aware of the right hand, etc.

That's how it works for some, and I'm one of them. I turn down friend invites from random people, and only add the folks that I really consider friends. I've met about half the folks on my list in real, and am looking forward to the chance to meet the rest.

Never stop learning and never stop improving...that goes for yourself and your profile.  Make a dominant friend and really learn the basics on how it's done, preferably before you find your "first".  It's good to see that you want quality over quantity

Good luck and I hope this year is kind to you

Some use it like that.  Others don't.  Actually, this thread has made Me think of some folks that I would say belong on Mine and aren't.

I'd say at least it should be folks who you appreciate through the forums, talk with in emails, or have met in real life.  I tend to have a very particular definition of the word 'friend'.  To Me, it means people that I actually like.  LOL.

I always think it's hilarious that people have in their 'Hate' list Volunteerism. If it weren't for volunteers, a lot of things would never get done. Do you seriously hate them for making your life easier? Or do you hate the idea of giving to the community to make the world a better place?

I know this is a bit more than halfway off topic here, sorry. But, about your being an ass - being totally unintentional … does that mean it is simply a side affect we need to brace for to happen again or is it more like a bad science experiment that won’t be repeated now that you know the results?

As for the profile issue, be a person. Be engaging and illuminating. Use the tick marks to the side to show what you are and are not interested in. For heavens sake, don’t just hover in the portions about sex … show you have a brain larger then you privates, check out and choose some of the things from the other sections as well. Oh, I almost forgot to mention My pet peeve. When communicating with anyone - use a name, initial or some sort of personal identifier. Don't be as removed, evasive or invisible as others are.

Warm wishes,

Lady Challen

I didn't see it before the change but everything looks fine to me. Though I'm morbidly curious about the gay rants even though I probably don't want to know...

The more pictures of hot fem friends I see on a profile of a "single" man, the more I think him undesirable.  If you know lots of hot women, and they want you for friendship, but nothing else, something is amiss.

Your profile...  Lose the "prefer slimmer", and the judjemental chit regarding size.   Easy enough to say "the chemistry is missing" if too many big girls respond to you.
Lots of women of average to slimmer size are insecure/paranoid about being too big, and I bet seeing those words in print, doesn't make them say "oh, he seems like a sweetheart."   I know this is BDSM, but if she isn't into you, nothing else happens IMO.

And for Godssakes, you're only 21, lose the expert label at so many things.   Lose the ultra long interst list, as it probably bores many, and makes most's eyes roll+; show some open mindedness, and humility.    I'm a dominant lady though, and wouldn't be interested anyway, so take it for what it's worth.   M

I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing a size preference, but at a practical level, you are right... plenty of women who would be "slimmer" in his eyes might not see themselves as such, or would fuss about the issue. Since it's a degree of slimness that only the OP can determine is satisfactory or not, it's a silly way to have women self-selecting themselves away from him.

True.  Most of the women I've met, and who I consider to be slim, don't think that they are.  'Slim' seems to mean 'model-shaped' to a lot of women.

I would still change the photo. It's too dark, there's too much detail around you which distracts people's attention away from you. The facial expression could be better, but at least you haven't tried to look domly and end up looking like someone's just kicked you in the goolies.

However having a good facial expression whilst posing for a photo is a bit of a challenge for a lot of people. You need to be somewhere in the light for a photo, e.g. by a window, in a better lit room, and try to have no more than one or two other objects in the photo. You can be sat on a chair for example, or leaning against the back of a chair, and if a facial expression and pose is difficult then why not have someone take a photo of you doing something?

Photos are just as important as profiles. People might not read profiles, but they do look at photos and a photo can often be the deciding factor over whether someone makes contact with you or not.

The same could be said for many profile photo's.  A picture that's only a silhouette, or so dark as to preclude details, leads one to believe the poster has something to hide...while still being able to say they had a photo on their profile. Such photo's should, in my opinion, be disallowed by CM.

That's very astute of you. I dare say, those posters are attempting to hide their identity. On an internet site devoted to bdsm. The nerve of some people.

Oh really, why stop there? Why not require people to register with their real names. Use current state issued IDs as profile pics. Send in reports from their doctors verifying their height, weight and age. Maybe list employment information, so anyone perusing their profile can confirm the person does what they claim to do. What the hell, let's have CM participate in e-verify, so we can rest assured that there aren't any dirty foreigners on the site. Only honest to God taxpaying American citizens of lawful age.

I don't have a profile pic, because for whatever reason the site won't load a photo from the computer I access this site from. If I had a pic, it sure as shit would not be a picture of my face that you could use to recognize me on the street. Some people like their privacy. We have the right to "hide" certain things from the entire internet.

So says he standing at least 15 yards from the camera in his own profile photo.
