Starvation is bad for you and Old Threads Never Die. -The End- [:)]

Starvation may be bad for you, but intermittent fasting and withholding of food is -not-. I work in a cancer hospital, and there has been substantial research done showing that intermittent fasting and calorie restriction, properly done, actually -increase- human longetivity and reduce the risk of a number of degenerative diseases from arthritis and Altzheimers to cancer and autoimmune dysfunctions.

For myself, I am a relatively recent convert to the IF/CRON (intermittent fasting-calorie restriction optimal nutrition) camp, and my neurologist, immunologist, cardiologist, nephrologist, and family physician all confirm significant improvement in my MS, autoimmune degeneration (genetic dysfunction), cardivascular disease profile, kidney degeneration (caused by autoimmune issues) and general health.

Excellent point!

That is the difference between real and fake.

Godammit people...the op is dead!!! Karened herself right out of existence.

It is kind of hot sliding a woman on like a condom.

Necro-thread? Really? Okay...

[sm=popcorn.gif] I'd share my popcorn with you, but you've been bad.

DesFIP -> RE: Withholding Food (8/12/2010 2:43:55 PM)

I get rude and snotty when I don't get fed. If we stop and pick up a sandwich my blood sugar stays level and the problem doesn't arrive. I wouldn't think much of someone who decided to punish me for having a problem by doing the thing that causes the problem to exist. I've known teachers and principals who decided to punish children with mood disorders by not allowing them to take their medication when the mood disorder was unusually high that day. I suppose you would punish an epileptic by withholding the anticonvulsants?

Additionally if he did this to me, he wouldn't be eating either. Since I'm not going to cook if I'm not eating and he doesn't cook. I guess he could go get a slice of pizza but that isn't any good for his blood sugar.

But people who do things like this tire me. It doesn't solve the problem. It doesn't discover the root causes of the problem. It doesn't prevent it from recurring another time. It just satisfies his kink for sending little girls to bed without supper without being honest about it getting him off.

littlewonder -> RE: Withholding Food (8/12/2010 3:26:35 PM)

I personally don't have a problem with it although it's never been done to me but I used to do it to my kid when she was young.

She'd refuse to eat the lunch or dinner I'd made and I'd send her to bed without any food until she decided she was hungry enough to eat the meal or breakfast the next morning.

She's still alive and an adult now so apparently it didn't kill her.

Bobanna -> RE: Withholding Food (8/12/2010 5:13:22 PM)

I think I like the food punishment best on the movie Mommie Dearest .. where she makes Christina keep putting the bloody raw steak back in the fridge over and over again until it rotted.  Ahhhh ... Mommie Dearest.  Faye Dunnaway should of won an Oscar for that movie.  She was the BEST in it.

BambiBoi -> RE: Withholding Food (8/12/2010 6:44:42 PM)

If a submissive wants to please (and isn't the "I submit because you force me down" kind) then the guilt of failure is usually sufficient, however it is often personified through a singular physical act.

I doubt the operant condition of hunger is making the difference. Though its funny... The dom expects that the next day the sub will be more tame... The Sub will have to fight extra hard to stifle morning moodiness, hungry moodiness, and still being the same person who was snotty yesterday.

If my owner did such a thing, I'd consider it a red flag. Especially if my mistake was in good faith.

I think she is one of the 65 pound subs we keep hearing from.

Hell...even my meatloaf would taste good to the poor kid.

Of course, Calla, but we weren't talking about that kind of restriction - and that being said, and although I am on a path of weight loss and do not have any health concerns: I am very interested in things like homeopathy, sustainability and natural remedies, and would be very interested in hearing more about this intermittent fasting and calorie-restriction therapy.. please PM me or answer here at your convenience. Blessings! [:)]

I was on a different BDSM discussion list the other day when a poster (claiming to be an experienced dominant) made a post about how sometimes a dom has to punish a sub by withholding food.

He was refering to sending a sub to bed with no dinner for being rude and snotty(his words).

I've yet to hear of a dominant doing this...what do people think?

Cin

He's obviously never been between a fat bitch and a bag of skittles.

It was traumatic..Please don't ask.[:(]

SorceressJ -> RE: Withholding Food (8/12/2010 9:27:27 PM)

@ Icarys: I'm not a fat bitch but I had a Skittle fight after hours in a convenience store once.. you should've been there..
@ holly's Jim: I think hols and I should have a meatloaf-off. How about if I throw in homemade buttermilk biscuits and a salad, do you think that would mitigate ppl's inate fear of The Meatloaf..? [:D]

Oh I don't know..I think people still have a good base of survival instincts.

You don't need 'regular sustenance' to maintain the blood glucose level.  The liver secretes glucose that can be utilised when necessary.

Assuming you're healthy to begin with. For those with hypoglycemia, diabetes, borderline diabetes, etc although you will have undesirable side effects such as fainting or a plummeting of the mood. And with the aging of America, such problems are very common.

So if the sub referred to was in a bad place because dinner had been delayed, then not feeding them would only perpetuate the problem instead of solving it.
