Eh... could be inappropriate. Could be a way of saying "Who the fuck cares? Since you aren't Orthodox, it really doesn't matter."

Personally, I dunno. I don't always get it. He and I have butted heads before. [:)]

Hey Lushy.. I see you lurking up there. Get your Jewess ass in here!

Incidentally, even though I am not Jewish... I have been circumcised, if that helps.

No, I am not Orthodox but I AM Jewish.  The comments are inappropriate and disrespectful.  Period. And have nothing to do with my original question, which pertained to the Ketubah.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/12/2010 7:44:49 PM)

Ok, Im here! I had a Ketuba. It was witnessed and signed. I have yet to recieve my 500 rupies and my goats. Did you know if you are jewish and you want to remarry you have to Get a Get? A GEt is a jewish divorce.

Firebirdseeking -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/12/2010 7:54:13 PM)

Nope, not if you re-marry by a Reform rabbi who performs interfaith marriages.

And, not if husband #1 was not Jewish.

The Lieberman clause is a good thing in these situations.

*shrugs* If that's how you want to take them.

Domi is like South Park.  Nothing is too sacred to laugh at.  He's not for everyone.  I think he likes it that way.

sexyred1 -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/12/2010 8:39:42 PM)

And he has been in particularly rare form lately! [:D]

I have one of those, a Lieberman clause in my Ketubah.  I don't think it frees you from having to get a Get, just if the husband refuses, the wife isn't stuck.  Of course since the divorce I'm not quite sure what to do with it.  It's a lovely document in an expensive frame, but I don't really want it hanging up anymore.

MsMillgrove -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/13/2010 6:12:45 PM)

While I am reading along with respect and appreciation for this serious question... Clicking links and imagining how happy the OP will be at her wedding, the interruption of DOMI is like a ray of sunshine flickering into the window for a moment. I choke with laughter. I adore Domi. Please don't be huffed by his irreverent attitude. I think he's a comic genius. It beats that amazing pointless flirting that punctures many an equally serious thread. Maybe June and Ward will drop by to offer congratulations too. Take it as a sign of good cheer and best wishes for your upcoming special day.

Firebirdseeking -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/13/2010 7:02:23 PM)

"A marriage without a collar is not a marriage" - Ulric Cross, OP's Dominant.

Really? I must say that I find that statement rather flawed. Would you care to go into more detail?

KatyLied -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/13/2010 7:47:01 PM)

I also find it flawed, especially where happily married non-D/s folk are concerned.

AquaticSub -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/13/2010 9:52:40 PM)

Even in terms of d/s folks. Val collared me before we got married and I know of people who regard collaring as so much of a greater commitment that they have married while still in the process of earning their collar.

Such a statement strikes me as far too broad to have a hope of being accurate.

Firebirdseeking -> RE: Question for Jewish D/s couples: (1/14/2010 6:44:41 AM)

I am not speaking for him, but I believe my Dominant was being tongue in cheek with that comment, which was in response to reading him a comment above.  This thread has gotten derailed; I intended it as a straightforward question about finding a Ketubah that would have language reflecting our relationship values.

This is intended in the nicest way possible...

But if you don't feel comfortable or are unable to fully explain your dominant's comments, perhaps you shouldn't post them for him. Frankly, it's still clear as mud to me and still very flawed.

ETA: BTW, you've gotten your answer several times over. Since you aren't particularly concerned with any of the laws, you can write whatever you feel like. There are tons of samples on the Internet. I gave you a suggestion of a book. If you need further information, I'd suggest contacting your local Jewish community.
