LadyOddsworth -> Warnings About Other Users (1/5/2010 9:12:02 AM)

I have noticed in the journals when someone has had a bad experience with another CM user, they may post that users name and a warning as such.

Is there a forum for this? Aside from just "not hitting it off" or "being angry" with someone for not being who they want them to be. Is there a true and appropriate place here on CM to post real warnings about other users who are not bad enough to be taken off of the site? That said, what types of things would get someone booted off of CM?

No, Collarme does not allow "Black listing"

LadyOddsworth is dangerous....

See why it doesn't work.

LadyPact -> RE: Warnings About Other Users (1/5/2010 9:19:14 AM)

Here's My thoughts on the matter.

Let's say you meet someone from the site.  For the sake of making the point, let's suggest that things didn't work out so well.  Not that you particularly did anything wrong, but maybe just personality clash or bad match for other reasons.

Would you really want that other person to have the ability to come back and trash your good name, even though you did nothing wrong?

Instead of warnings about other users, watch for when folks around here have met each other and have GOOD things to say about them.  Nobody around here is on commission (that I know of) so a positive reference that is unsolicited is a much better way of knowing what to go on.

Well said, LadyPact, as usual........

I'm not personally looking to "bash" anyone and yes I agree it is a double edged sword. I have just noticed quit a bit of it within the journals.

Do users ever get "show the door" on this site?

Just because you don't like someone you met, short of meeting a serial killer, in which case I might be calling the authorities rather than asking CM to create a blacklist section, doing so seems vicious.

If I posted in my journal or anywhere else everytime I met someone from here that did not work out, it would be War and Peace.

Adults do not need lists such as these; we can form our own opinions.

And one woman's frog is another woman's Prince.

Yes, they do, but as far as I know, it's for things such as violating TOS.  We've had a few that would frequent the Mistress board that had a bad habit of showing their ass in the courtesy department.  Up to and including some that viciously attacked other posters for their sexual orientation.

regarding journals --- they do post names in there but there is no may about it, it is blacklisting and not tolerated, you MAY report journal entries as well as profiles.

Ron

Jeffff -> RE: Warnings About Other Users (1/5/2010 9:46:24 AM)

I am going to start a journal.

it will only say, Ron, Ron , Ron, Ron.... for about two pages.

Go ahead and report me fucker!

mnottertail -> RE: Warnings About Other Users (1/5/2010 9:51:30 AM)

no, please don't. it just brings the trainwreck drama whores to my doorstep, I have no dearth of those at this time. fact is I got one gobbling me like a christmas turkey as I pen this vast missive.

wisdomtogive -> RE: Warnings About Other Users (1/5/2010 9:59:45 AM)

Blacklisting is really not a good thing. Once in a blue moon I have seen a journal full of anti a person remarks. All that would do for me, is double check that person off as a possibility. If they are carrying on like this, it is a red sign to not trust the journaler.

Note: there might be a lot of this in people's journals, i just not one to read profiles, except an occassional one that pops up while i am checking my mail. Never used Cm in the purpose of looking for someone, just used the boards.

sweetsub1957 -> RE: Warnings About Other Users (1/5/2010 10:22:46 AM)

I don't think collarme allows blacklisting and trashing other users by name.  With good reason.  People's opinions are just that.  Opinions.  And as such purely subjective.  What if someone did it to You, or any one of us, just because they had a gripe?

I admit, ONE time, when I was new here I listed Someone in my journal by username because They had lied about being married.  The entire entry was immediately removed by the Mods.  I have never listed Ssomeone by name again.

LadyOddsworth -> RE: Warnings About Other Users (1/5/2010 11:55:47 AM)

I used to be a moderator on a site. We had to read each and every post and delete as appropriate.
