Yanno, I just thought of something which Kirata posted *Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.* yet god also says thou shall not kill - now doesn't that sound a tad bit contradictory from this supposed god who is presumed to be perfect???? Fuck, now I know why I reverted back to being a Wiccan years ago!

Since mariage can be a civil ceremony as well as a religious one; and since the repercussions of the marriage contract are civil; it follows that mariage should be available to everybody, including, of course, same-sex couples.

I was married by a JoP in a wholeheartedly civil context. Everyone else should be able to do the same thing.

i have to say i just love *snort* all these bible thumping holier than thou miscreants. Instead of going back and forth and up and down and left and right on this issue, i will post a recreation of a conversation i have had with several ministers:

Minister: Gays are bad and evil and against the word of God!

Me: Do you believe in love?

Minister: Of course i believe in love! That is not the argument here! Gays are unnatural.

Me: i understand this is what you believe. And i was not asking about gays. i was asking if you believe in love. You said you do, why do you believe in love?

Minister: Because God had it put in the bible "Love thy neighbor".

Me: So you believe in love, and the reason you believe in love is because the bible tells you it exists. So am i taking you right when i say that love is sanctioned by God, and is in fact a gift from God and placed in men's hearts?

Minister: Well yes of course God places loves in men's hearts!

Me: then you just proved yourself wrong. If being gay is unnatural, then why did God place this love for someone of the same sex in the hearts o gay men and women? Please think on this and remember also that it says in the bible "He who is without sin shall cast the first stone".

this is the point in time i usually leave them stuttering as i walk away.

You are probably correct InvisibleBlack. It's just that the best that man can do is interpret what is written in the bible in a manner which is as accurate to the truth in which it was originally written. The unfortunate part is the original language that the bible was written in had been translated in so many languages over the eons that much of the actual meaning has been lost, I believe. I also admit that I can and have misinterpreted parts of that book and sometimes misconstrued a quote as I am doing that from memory.

Yanno eyeswideopened, I challenge the Carmeldelight to live in my shoes 24/7 for exactly one month and see that I did not deliberately choose to be a gay man. I have $50 US that says that she has no backbone to take the challenge.

btw carmeldelight...that challenge MUST be verified by a totally neutral third party and abiding by specific guidelines to be valid.
