Forgettabout Ebony. She likes the ladies!

Ok, I realise that you are new to collarme and to the forums so I'll give you a little break. Welcome by the way. We are a little nutty here so be warned.

This is going to get silly sasscat84 unless you add a little more detail to your question. What is it exactly that you want to know? What I gather so far is that you aren't into animal play persay but you'd like to be a woman's pet? Is that it?

ok, elaboration: if a woman tells you she wants you to be her pet, what does that entail actually? i do realize that it is all up for interpretation, however, i would appreciate an array of potential definitions. what does that term mean to "you" specifically?

Well, the bottom line is that it that you need to be able to ask *her* what she means by pet. If she can't explain that to you, then this is a warning sign that she might not know what she wants or that she isn't so good at communication. I have never expected my submissives to be mind readers.

Now if you want to have a general idea of what a pet might be, think about what a real pet really is. My cat provides companionship, he's cuddly, he's dependant on me, I pet him, I groom him, I take care of him, sometimes he bites or scratches, he rarely listens to me unless I take a stern tone and then he just scampers. On the flip side, a dog is a little less independant than a cat and is more obedient and you can train it.

I have a feeling when people say pet, they are thinking more along the lines of an obedient pet like a dog, but you never know until you ask her, right?

Personally, thought I like the occasional puppy innuendos, I'm not really into having a pet.

For us, a pet is a boy that we love and cherish, as he makes our lives better ... just like our dogs and cats make our lives better (just in different ways).

Angelica is right, though - you need to ask the person in question. No one else can answer for them, only ourselves.

I decided on the term "pet" for my current sub for many reasons, these being a few of them:
(1) he is cuddly and warm
(2) he always lights up when he sees me at the door
(3) he amuses me in so many ways
(4) the feeling I have for him is affectionate and loving

Now I'm thinking next time I see him I might try scratching his belly to see if the leg thumps! lol

Whenever I have been called Pet, by either sex, it was as a term of endearment, no animal play involved.

One of My past boys I named "pet" as well.  I based it on the fact that his favorite reward had to do with his long hair being stroked while sitting at My feet.
