The Council of Europe health subcommittee has moved for an enquiry into the swine flu pandemic, to focus on how pharmaceutical companies may have acted to influence the WHO into changing what constitutes a pandemic in July 2009 and in otherwise exacerbating the threat, resulting in governments worldwide making massive purchases of anti-virals that were, as it would seem, not needed. Should such an enquiry establish guilt on the part of big pharma this will not of course indicate some awful conspiracy towards population control or any of the other wilder conspiracy theories, but it may indicate fraudulent activity that should be scandalous, representing the obtaining by deception of billions of dollars. At the same time we must bear in mind of course that such findings may assist to release governments from some very hefty bills and contractual obligations that they would prefer to evade. One must wonder what the fall out of such a bloody nose for big pharma might mean for our future pills and potions supply. Anyway, thought I'd post this towards an apology because Pahunk as it would appear may have been on to something with this aspect. E
