Punishment is punishment here. It's not fun. It's not meant for fun. It doesn't turn me on. It usually just friggin hurts like hell and makes me feel as if I let him down in some way.

ABSOLUTELY NOT punishment is NOT fun.... my Master, and i talked about this VERY early in Our relationship. He has, and will again, Beat me...Spank me.... Cane me.... All for His pleasure, and mine. IF He feels i need punishment, no it wouldn't be fun or erotic in any way.

There are a lot of threads on this topic. While I know you were asking other submissives, I'll pipe in with my intent when I punish.

I do not intend for the punishment to be fun, rewarding or hot n kinky - it would defeat the purpose of punishment. Then again, I've only ever punished a handful of times. Not because I have a limited arsenal of punishments, but because the people I allow into my life are usually adults and are capable of conversation.

Now, if I wanted to beat on a sub/slave that belonged to me, I wouldn't need to find an excuse, such as punishment, to do that. I'd just tell them to bring me whatever implement I wanted to use.

Some people use the word 'punishment' as an excuse for impact play or some other thing. I spoke with one do who insisted that I should be 'punished' and accept it as my due for being such a slut/whore/whatever and for being so soft and desirable (his words) and for wanting pain- which basically was his finding an excuse for his sadism. Honestly - if you enjoy spanking or whatever, just embrace it - it's much sexier that way, at least in my opinion.

When I've screwed up and he has to deal with the situation, there's nothing the least bit enjoyable about it.

Punishment is definitely not fun. Infact in four years, I think he has had to punish me under a handful of times - and it wasn't fun!

Funishment on the other hand, is great. Nothing like a good caning to get the juices going.

It is meant to reinforce the mind set I need to have, in order to do my part in maintaining the relationship, and serves as a reminder of his requirements.

It is not meant to be fun, but I still get a sense of appreciation from his implementing it; though, I suspect that is largely due to the fact, he has never been extreme in what he decides on, as a punishment.

Punishment is horrible and I hate it. Having said that--and this may not be the "right" thing to say on this subject--punishment emphasizes how much I am under his control and being under his control is a turn on, emotionally and intellectually, for me.

Punishment is not a good thing and aside from vindication for him and catharsis for me, there is no positive. It means something has gone wrong and there is disappointment, pain, and problems. Punishment is a way to put it behind us. Punishment is not pain play. Pain play means we are both in a place of intimacy, trust, and respect with each other. Even if our frame of mind is not wholly good, it is a time of refreshing and release. These are two very different entities that I am not able to mistake whatsoever.

When he gets out the cans and floggers it's for the enjoyment of both of us. When there was punishment (which has happened once in 4 years) I didn't get to read books for a week which was about the worst thing he could have done. It was NOT fun.

We don't do punishment. We're both adults, and my Lady can and will tell me when she is not liking what I am doing. Honestly, getting THE LOOK is just enough to make me want to cry anyway.

I *like* impact and sensation play, so that wouldn't be punishment but playtime.
