Though this seems a pretty simple idea and one that also makes sense I think it is rather limiting, dominants can be wrong. The ability to lead comes with the ability to take other things into consideration. There was a thing at work I read to all the managers, the turnover at the company is a little high, and it said without giving respect you won't get it back. True I think.

in context you didn't see that as humorous?

i did

in fact i don't see it as something to be commented on other than in a humorous way sure dominants can be wrong, the skill is in how they handle being wrong

My Master and I have a foundation of common relationship goals.  We have a framework of Master/slave/bdsm.  It is all fastened together with love and respect.

Very well said..... Foundation.... Framework..... Fasteners! Three aspects to structure!

Tried blocking me? Oh that's easy. All you have to do to block someone is go to the lower left hand corner of any of their posts and click the "hide" button. Of course, if someone quotes them in their post you will still see it.

Hope that was helpful. [:)]

THANK YOU Aqua...that was very helpful! I never knew how to do it.

As far as the the OP-structure to me is a sense of security in a way. I don't have much else to add though really.

Thank you again Aqua!!! You made my day!

breatheasone -> RE: what is your idea of structure in a relationship (1/13/2010 2:10:59 PM)

Structure is security. i can just imagine how an s-type would, or could flourish under some kind of structure. Just my best guess, and not a declaration of fact.

Last night I sent Sir Littlewonder's comment on structure, and he agreed with that as well as added balance. Again thanks Littlewonder.

<smacks head> How could I have forgotten balance in my definition of structure??!!

Balance is my motto for life...

Balance baby!

i'm curious as to what the submissives think it is

if you want mine i'll have to mail it to you because of cross posting

I have not read all the other responses. Structured relationship means that roles are clearly defined. The expectations are clearly communicated and known by both parties. There is also a certain lack of spontaneity within structured relationships or lifestyles because the expectations are and roles are clearly defined. This sort of dynamic usually requires lots of rules as to define the structure. I am not a fan of these sorts of relationships, although I am extremely structured in my own life.

Sorry to have bothered you.

Respectfully,

osf: may i post that without attribution? no bother

her: Post what? My comment about agressive sub/slaves and all the damned femdoms? As you can tell, I'm not a fan of feminine dominance; it's unnatural to me. Yes, if you don't give my name I don't mind at all if you post it...I stand by what I said, but I'm not ready to fight the hoard of nasty, falming emails I would receive if they knew who said it.

I would have to ask why you posted this? What possible purpose does this serve? It would be like me going to the Master's Forum and posting some dominant's private communication that all of you were full of shit and couldn't dominate your way out of a paper sack. In other words, it just seems like this was posted to demean the people who DO post on this site. If you wonder why people take offense to you it is little nasty crap like this that will not win you friends nor influence any people. If you aren't here to do either I have to wonder why you are wasting all of our time

i agree with you. Some people truly, just get off on the attention they get when they act out...And Every time somebody responds to this persons crap, his little boy parts get all tingly. IF people could/ or would fight the urge to reply to this person...Within 3 days this person would probably leave. No stimulus!

The funny thing is, based upon my experience here on the forums I will bet money the person that wrote to osf had a similar experience to what I am going to describe.

She came into the forums with the attitude that all women should be hetro and subservient, all men should be hetro and dominant, and anything else was sick and wrong. She posted her feelings in such a way that she annoyed anyone that did not agree with her. She got told she was a narrow minded dumbfuck in some way or another. She got her panties in a wad and flounced out.
