His spokesman said the comments were based on Voodoo rituals that Robertson believes were carried out before a slave rebellion against French colonists in 1791. Kevin Wolf/AP/File Mr. Robertson’s theory that Haitian slaves made a “pact with the devil” 200 years ago in order to free themselves from the hated clutches of Napoleon Bonaparte's regime – resulting in a curse that led to the destruction of much of Port-au-Prince and a massive loss of life in Tuesday's earthquake – got the usual chuckles of disbelief among local intelligentsia about American culture.

Yeah, the entire world is reaching out to Haiti while the good Christian is spurning charity. I have a lot of respect for Christians who simply live their faith, but none for those who judge others instead. If ya can't live by Jesus' teachings... don't call yourself a Christian.

Just so long as you don't start thinking sane Christians think the same way...pure and simple religious fanatic that sad but so does have some followers. It always amazes me these so called television Christian leaders say such antichristian statements so against their own Bible and beliefs and yet some people believe them. Damn I'm glad I'm a sane one. Butch

So Robertson confirms then that his God is rendered powerless by the devil, and reduced to stamping his feet in protest for several hundred years, rather like a child throwing a tantrum? Robertson does understand what heresy and blasphemy are, right? And he does understand the traditional, God-fearing method for dealing with heretics and blasphemers? E
