You want a reality check? Turn off your stupid FOX or CNN broadcast. Think of the human factor. Make a donation. Show you are human.

Btw, this isn't addressed to anyone in particular. It is just my really big rant and anger at the way the news stations ratings go up when people die.

Bien dit.

Schlau, aber nicht wahr.

Then you can equally account for James Merideth attending the University of Mississipi. That was couched as a states rights issue, didn't fly, they were going to throw the Governor in jail over it on a federal beef.

FEMA has a federal mandate, and issues directly affecting our federation were in play down there.

There's this beautiful concept called states rights. Perhaps you've heard of it?  It's why the Civil War happened(not slavery), and why Bush didn't just waltz into Louisiana.

If you think slavery was not the cause of the Civil War you are ignorant of the Missouri Compromise of 1820, the War with Mexico in 1846, the Texas Annexation, the Compromise of 1850, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the border wars of "bloody Kansas," The Fugative Slave Law, the Dred Scott Decision, and John Brown's failed raid and hanging. You are also unfamiliar with the New York City draft riots of 1863 which lead to the murder of a number of free blacks in the city.

You are also unschooled with the several attempts by the Southern States to organize themselves before the election of Lincoln throughout the 1850s. And you have no clue about the sectional differences that destroyed the Whig party and almost took down the Democrats.

In other words you are unfamiliar with the history of which you speak.

In addition FEMA is organized on a state by state basis. The truth of the ineptitude of all parties beginning with the mayor of N.O. who took to hiding in his high tower offices had nothing to do with State's Rights - that old battle cry for the protection of the right to own slaves as property.

If we are looking for something to blame Bush for over that, didn't he cut the leevee maintenance budget to provide more funding for his invasion of Iraq? That seems something that could be considered as culpability for the flooding, if you're an evil liberal.

Rush Limbaugh has told people they should not donate to Haiti and he did not put a link up on his site like Sean Hannity did for example. Rush is a cruel sick bastard... you think after all his fans sent him love during his recent illness he would have some sort of empathy for the pain in Haiti, but no.. he has to make it all about politics and pushing his political positions on the backs of millions suffering in that country.. what a huge pile of shit he is.

Obama's donated well over a hundred million of our tax dollars for us, and so Rush has a very valid point.

As far as making this about politics, why are there three current threads about Rush Limbaugh?

I wonder if the Rushites would be so reluctant to help had the earthquake occurred in, oh, I don't know, Britain, or Israel.

So then support Rush's mentality Sanity.  While everyone is clicking on links to the Red Cross and et al.  Go click on Rush's link to buy gold coins.  I hear thats what he has an an alternative link too.

I agree. I think that's what Sanity should do too.

Merci kittin. Tiens, on peut se parler en français car franchement, l'effet de mon discours fût perdu sur la foule beaucoup trop emparée par les discours sensationalistes de leur politiciens. C'est vraiment triste.

The Haitians need much more than what Obama promised. And if you think that it is valid to with hold because there is someone in the White House with a D next to his name, then perhaps posting any response to you is like trying to give Rush a heart... fruitless.

As far as those other threads. I did not post one of those threads and I have only responded to this one, so wtf does it have to do with me? I am commenting on a deeply and perversely psychopathic individual named Rush Limbaugh... and if you can find other examples on the left of such comments after a natural disaster of epic proportions... I will condemn that person too

Well to be fair, I don't recall the Americans offering any support or assistance (or even acknowledgement, come to that) of the London tube bombings in 2005.

How much damage was done? Was their entire city flattened? How many died? Was there room in their morgues for more dead? Were they setting up road blocks to gain supplies made out of corpses?

I watched a little of the coverage last night, and it broke my heart. I try hard these days to protect that organ. I had to turn it off because I have no wherewithal to help those people in any real or meaningful way. If I were someone like Rush Limbaugh I could help them. I would have listeners that would "ditto" anything I did, and I would give heavily to set an example...

This man has so much materially, he is completely devoid of humanity....

I cannot wrap my mind around things like Banda Aceh, Katrina, or this latest tragedy....

Interestingly, the rich tend not to give to charity. It gets a lot more donations from people a lot further down the pay scale. Hence the old joke about foreign aid involving taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries...

Oh look - Obama is invading Haiti now.

Doesn't most every argument against invading Iraq apply to Haiti as well?

Are you kidding me?

You are seriously going to try to compare a military invasion which has cost the lives of more than 4000 American soldiers and tens of thousands more wounded with sending the military as a relief effort to an earthquake-ravaged country?

RML, sadly he isnt kidding you. Those that try and support Limbaughs racist comments are no better than the man himself.

Limbaugh was mocking Harry Reid, the "racist comments" you're bitching about are those of the top Democrat in the Senate.
