I don't think you understand the severity of the financial collapse and its implications. Just because the full effects are not visible yet- does not mean - we escaped it. You have no idea just how this collapse will change everything. --even people getting some kind of government check ought to be worried. In 3 years- there wont be any. Same thing with Social Security. I dont mean people will have to pay more and wait to retire- I mean current people on it- wont be. Expect current checks to be cut to 1/3 of what they are today- best case scenario.

In what universe are the Tea Party protesters opposed to the big banks? You understand, right, that the Tea Party protests were organized by Freedom Works, headed by Dick Armey, who is a lobbyist for insurance companies, and corporate interests? The only thing the Tea Partiers are worried about is just how wide they can open their mouth for the bankers to lower their scrotum into.

However- Aren't they followers of Grover Norquist, who famously said he wanted government to be small enough to drown in a bathtub? They are only in favor of "Excessive" regulation? Do they clamor for new banking regulations? Or do they clamor for less than we have now? Are they in favor of the Consumer Protection Agency being proposed? Are they in favor of bringing back the Depression-era banking regulations? Are they in favor of bringing back the 1950's era progrssive tax rates? But yes- you are correct- they aren't in favor of ZERO tax rates...they just seem to have no problem with the fact that the CEO of Goldman Sachs pays less in taxes than his secretary. The Tea Party has no desire to reduce the power of these entities, but instead wants to give them more power, less control, and less taxation. This is because the Tea Party itself is a product of Washington lobbyists like Dick Armey and his firm.
