A cop wouldn't want to do this in her home, a hotel is easier.  Secondly, a cop would not just hand her an envelope, there would have to be CASH or a money transaction exchanged.  Thirdly, cops wouldn't try and set her up as an employee of a business because then they would have to prove she wasn't an actual employee and that the money was for sex.

I really doubt this is a undercover op, it seems as if they are making it far harder than it has to be to nab someone on prostitution.   I fail to see how it would remotely be entrapment, law enforcement i believe is allowed to LIE while they are undercover, just as they are allowed to lie in interviews -- i.e. hey Jack, you better tell us something cause your buddy Igor is writing down his statement and it completely implicates you.

Entrapment is when law enforcement influences so to speak someone into committing a crime when they more than likely would not have otherwise.

If your friend is prostituting herself, then its likely she would have committed the crime without the police influence.  That's why drug dealers don't get off on entrapment charges, they more than likely would have committed the same crime if it was someone else other than the cops.

To me your story doesn't seem very plausible, cops wouldn't create all types of conflicts such as doing it at her home or setting her up as an employee etc, they go for the least complicated concepts because they need it to stick in court and the more complicated it is -- the more reasonable doubt occurs.

*yawn*  What it took barely five paragraphs to explain...No, silly op, there are no police at work here.

Probably something that you read or something that someone told you not knowing that you would actually "run with it."

I rarely respond to crap on these boards but this takes the cake.

The guy is obviously a stalker.  Everything he's done has been tilted towards getting as much info on this woman as he possibly could.  He's already got her license plate btw, so I expect some blowback...assuming this story isn't complete BS.

He wants to meet at her place and have her on his payroll...so basically he wants complete information about her, and total control.  And, if you haven't figured it out by now, there is no payroll...just all the personal information she'd have to give him to 'apply' for the 'job'.  Even if his story did have a hint of truth to it, if he refuses to pay her who the hell could she complain to?  In the scenario he wanted he'd have complete control and she'd be his bitch.

And finally, as someone else stated, your friend kinda deserves whatever she gets as she doesn't have the attributes of a Mistress, she has the attributes of a whore.

DrkJourney -> RE: Is this an undercover cop or what??? (1/18/2010 2:46:09 PM)

Not that I'm buying this, but why would you or "she" worry about the police?   If it was the police that person would've come playing the part to the hilt, including driving an expensive vehicle and they wouldn't go through all the crap about the payroll, they would've just had the cash.

If this story is true, wouldn't a proper question be is this guy some kind of mass murderer or is he going to rip me off, or is he going to blackmail me, especially since he wants to come to my home?....that's a flimsy excuse for not wanting to go to a hotel....actually there are a lot of holes in this whole story

put in a coin and try again[8|]

Call BS all you want, but angel is dead on. A cop would want to do certain things, and one of them would be the exchange of money right then and there. That leaves only the other possible motives for this, and I doubt any of them is as pleasant as spending the night in jail and paying a fine.

Not entrapment. I think it's a scam, he's going to get a couple of free blowjobs and then the company he claims he owns will say they never heard of him.
