If a newcomer to the forums is getting a particularly rough reaction, it's usually because they did something like... post a bunch of a threads looking for wank fodder and then insult mistresses on those threads and in PMs.

It's a good to remember that, just like in any social group, people remember other's posting history and that will flavor our responses to them.
