ORIGINAL: Arpig True Popeye, in a way...but overpopulation wouldn't be an issue if there weren't so many desperately poor folks. That and there were poor long before the world was overpopulated. Its difficult to get somebody who is well off to strap a bomb to them sleves or to crash a plane they are on....but a poor person can be swayed in many ways...religion, ethicity, us/them...these are just tools used to motivate the poor. The rich on the other hand justifiably fear the masses of poor, so again they can be swayed by those same tools and use them to divide the poor (divide & conquer) into tribes which can then be pitted against eachother. If everybody were well off there would be a fuck of a lot less conflict & trouble. Arpig, not really, all of those 9-11 hijackers were upper middle class and most were highly educated with degrees in engineering etc or attending unis. Osama Bin Laden is worth what, $100-$200 million? As for the "well off" part maybe so but it's not our job to be making poor people in foreign countries, "well off", that's their job and the job of their govts. I grew up very poor as did many of my friends but we didn't know it at the time. We went to bed hungry and I still remember getting out of bed and my feet touching the freezing floor! But, we didn't sneak into foreign countries and push drugs and were taught to obey the rules. We were all "rail thin." As for strapping bombs on if I were terminally ill..... And yeah, we need to start wacking a bunch of rich people. lol And if there's too many poor people then why should we be feeding countries like Somalia, so they can double their population in ten or fifteen years? At some point the U.S. will not be able to produce enough food to feed all those foreign countries and that'll happen sooner rather than later due to skyrocketing birth rates in those countries. You can't expect people in Western countries to be responsable for what happens in foreign countries. Or to pay for failure in foreign countries due to bad govt, bad management, or out of control birth rates.
