...no problem.   Guys like me will be buying up real assets for pennies on the dollar.

Awefully smug of you to think your retirement is certain.  It isn't.   Social Security?  HA!   That will be cut to a 1/3 for current recipients.

Iv'e been retired for 2 years. I'll get social security ( if it is still there ) in 4 years. I based my lifestyle and retirement on something I knew would be there. If I get SS I get it, if I don't I'll be fine..

I also had immunity from history because I chose to study geography instead at school and this is a fact!

i hate to break the bad news to you LIBERALS but gun shows havent been banned in Texas.i was at one last weekend.
i sold a springfield .45.
i have no license, hell we dont evn fill out paperwork when one is sold between individuals.
only licensed dealers have all that paperwork and red tape that the federal government has made law abiding citizens fill out.
gun laws, and anti gun sentiment only help the criminals.they dont pay attention to gunlaws anyway.all those laws do is make money for the government and criminals out of law abiding citizens.

ding ding ding we have a winner! That was my point exactly. Good point, these fools think just because they can buy one they can use one, well...I am willing to bet that I can outshoot these wannabe's anytime. If you can't shoot it, please please don't buy it.

using that logic we would all be eating with our fingers.dont buy a fork or knife if you dont know how to use one.
if you dont have one how the hell do you expect someone to learn to use one.
but then mabey nobody should buy a book either, unless you know how to read.

I didn't realise gun shows were protected under the constitution. It's progress that nutters and criminals can't use the gun show loophole in order to do some of their nefarious dealings.

Right on!

...it goes with unalienable rights.  The government can not give me more rights then my creator has.

Per haps if you examined the content you would see the scam.

In the past century government has killed million.  Do you really think 911 is going to come and help you?   HAAAAAAAAAAA!

If your Creator is the Christian God, I would like to remind you that turning the other cheek is the correct response.

No God to my knowledge endowed people wth the right to bear arms.

the constitution did that.

hunky?... are you feeling ok, you seem to be a little more wacked than usual.

Jeff

-Interesting..

No God to my knowledge endowed people wth the right to bear arms.
-I agree.. No God to my knowledge took that right away though either.. Every religion that I'm aware of has countless references to the act of self-defense. In today's terms, that 'might' be construed as the right to bear arms.. Not arguing this point, however..

the constitution did that.
-It did what? The constitution didn't give people the right to keep and bear arms. The constitution restricted the government from taking away that right. I'm quite sure that people had arms well before the constitution.

Steel, you're such a nice, tactful guy. He's been pretty open about it, though; you must have just missed the posts.

Yeah, he's self-adjusting. Has been for some months. He thinks it's working out better. I don't think he's seeing what the rest of us are all seeing.

I would expect someone to be taught to use one properly BEFORE purchasing something that is used to kill. By the way as a liberal, I am pro-gun and own several, most Maine liberals like myself do, so please learn to read a post in full prior to making inaccurate statements. I realize that sweeping generalizations take that pesky thinking thing away, but alas, you also get incorrect conclusions from it.

Perhaps no one should post on threads unless they can spell properly either? .

In Texas, if we want a handgun or rifle, we have to do the week long waiting period. Mentally ill and criminals are not allowed to purchase weapons. Gun shows bypass the waiting period, making it to where I can get a handgun. Considering that I am mentally ill, that causes a problem for law enforcement if I get into one of my fits and decided that everyone is against me. Luckily I don't have those fits anymore.

Of course there is the gun cabinet in my mom's bedroom. I don't feel the need for a gun. Talk therapy works out for me and I don't have to touch a gun unless there is a snake on the property (not even then).

Seems you're the smug one here.

Like others here, I planned in case of no social security. And like others here, my 401K is not my only investment. And guess what? You're hardly to first to think of buying land--I've a couple thousand trees for timber planted as well on that land. Others here trade currency.

Face it--you didn't invent finance. Or planning for financially secure futures.

Now....remind me again what this has to do with the gun show issue?

Yes. They can even have pubic gunshows if they're big enough cunts.

Perhaps he's worried that somebody's going to shoot him and steal his land?

As I said, I hold an FFL. What is wanted here, is that normally:
You want to buy a gun, I make a call to the FBI and get them to search your name, if you aint a mental illness case, convicted felon, and so on, they say ok. I can read the form if I have to its about 10 questions, anyway, if you aint in their database and you are the age of majority, you get the gun.

We fill out a form, I save it for 20 years. Once a year, someone from ATF comes out and looks at my gunlog, transactions of in and out, see they match and match count of guns. They may pick one or two of the little 4473 yellow papers out and see I am filling them out correctly. If anything is wrong, they say in effect shame on you, dont do this again this way or you will be in trouble (which you never will be)

My ATF agent is related to the one and only Hermann Goering which I find amusing.

Why all this bullshit? If they find a gun at a crime scene, or there is a robbery of firearms they MAY ask me by serial number if I have those guns so they can track who did what to who.

There are not enough guys to sift thru the paper and gunlogs and whatnot to know what fucking guns you have unless you are on the radar for shooting the prez or serial killing or some such.

If the government wanted to take your guns away, the first thing they would have to do is hire the unemployed of the entire US and several other countries to track it down.

What they are trying to shortstop:

private sales where you dont know if the guy is a mental defective, is a criminal or other.

The deal is, if there is any problem comes up, and you are the last one to have filled out a gold form or there is a gold form and no police report of stolen or whatever, you are going to get the full weight of the government putting that fucker in your hands at the crime scene. Somebody is going down, and if it is private to private, thats one thing, and that dont happen that often, but commercial to private where you are selling quantity is where the bulk of the guns are.

Ron

But never mind what I said there, OBAMA IS TAKING YOUR GUNS AWAY!!!!! (god I love that, guns have about doubled since that fear mongering began and I am sitting pretty in alotta guns) so comon down get them before he takes them away, squirrel them away!!!!!!!!

ONCE AGAIN. OBAMA IS TRYING TO TAKE YOUR GUNS AWAY, BUY ONE TODAY!!!!!!

There is no such thing as a terrorist.  Only people who have been swindled out of their wealth.

The system that some so vocally support is insolvent and unsustainable.  You sent 23 trillion $ and that is not enough.

So- we all make our own beds.

My advice to people - is to learn everything you can about food.    In Germany the food budget became over 90% of the cost of living.   Per hyper inflation.

...it is not really even my opinion that counts here.    There is no fiat money that lasted.
History speaks.     Weather you listen or not is on you.

I just cut up two beef I grass raised and there havent been chemicals sprayed on those fields for at least 30 years, I have clean water, and can make krub, lefse (after a fashion- hit and miss right now), bean soup, dirty rice, shrimp scampi, have guns, can fish and hunt.......

I am not at all worried if a loaf of bread costs $1200 bucks, I dont eat much bread.

I know a great deal of food, in fact, (believe it or not) I have been eating it all my life.

you cant eat gold and silver.....well maybe with ketchup, whats that gonna go for? Couple flaws in the tinfoil plan. I remember a guy who talked to god buried a bunch of canned goods in the backyard some years back (someone I knew true story) god forgot to tell him that rust never sleeps and is the work of the devil, and the world didnt end when god told him it was gonna.

If you can make food happen- then you are in good shape for the depression.

Collapses are how the rich consolidate power.  They collapse an economy then buy it up for pennies on the dollar.
This is historical.    They do this over and over again- an 80 year cycle.  Tho there are other cycles and cycles with in a cycle.

A bushel of wheat once traded for some land.

When you call me tin foil hat- you are saying you agree with the status quo.  That same status quo has taken 23 trillion $ from you.   I have taken nothing from you.
