hunky, you've been posting these predictions that hyperinflation was about to happen since at least mid 2008. Notice the strange fact that it still hasn't occured and there are absolutely no signs that it is about to start? Perhaps the people who sold you precious metals at inflated prices by scaring you with hyperinflation predictions were simply making a fast buck?

So you personally will financially guarantee that paper gold will be as good as gold?

You have no attention span.   So you think the recession is just about over.

Try this little trick, go get the $6.99 breakfast special at Denny's, hunkie; and try to pay for it with a bar of your gold or silver bullion....my bets are that they aren't the manager of Denny's because they are holding advanced degrees in economics, they're far more likely to want REAL money (as they would have it) to keep the till right. And even if they do take it, you are not likely to get change.

In both the Bible and the constitution- only silver and gold is money.

The Second Amendment (in its strict interpretation) protects your right to keep and carry weapons.

It doesn't define a right to purchase or sell a weapon at a traveling show. There are numerous places one can buy a handgun and even if a state banned gun shows entirely, that wouldn't prevent you from walking (or driving) down to the local gun dealer and buying the weapon of your choice. I own handguns and long arms and I've never been to a gun show.

There is nothing stopping a state from regulating commerce within that state. If they want to make you purchase a license to open a car dealership or a real estate office - they can. Well, now gee, if they want to make you purchase a license to sell a gun at a show ... hey ... they can! Firearms dealers are required to keep track of sales ... if they want to to require people selling guns at gun shows to do so as well ... y'know what? They can.

You might not like it, but it's not unconstitutional. Well ... okay. Not under the Second Amendment. You might have a case that same "right to privacy" the Supreme Court discovered in Roe v. Wade might apply to your firearms purchases, but that's a different argument and outside of my pay grade.

Oh. And to be fair to PA - if you had bought silver and gold back in 2008 you'd've made a decent amount of money by now. Not millions and millions but a good 25-30% profit, easy - and without that nerve-wrenching crash in asset values that equities went through.

That is when I started.  Shortly after we passed TARP.

Today- it could drop 1/2 and at that point- I am close to breaking even.    Junk silver is not an abstract thing- US coins were 90% silver prior to 1965.

yeh the dolla lost so much value the fed no longer lists the M1 curve.  Everyone bails to specie, hence the methodical buy up of property and the rich get richer and hte dummies, like in 29 that thought cheap easy money are left holding the bag.  It works every time. Only this time it was not to bring the country to its knees for world war so they maintained liquidity.

Salt.  You forgot salt.  Salt was used as currency in biblical times.  That's where the phrase "worth his salt" and "salt of the earth" came from.  I'm gonna start hoarding salt.  All the rest of you poor bastards are gonna have to come to me if you want yummy food and high blood pressure.

Wasn't that purely a Roman thing, due to there being parts of the empire where salt was hard to get hold of, though? I can't see that as being much of a problem around the middle east.

ding ding ding we have a winner! That was my point exactly. Good point, these fools think just because they can buy one they can use one, well...I am willing to bet that I can outshoot these wannabe's anytime. If you can't shoot it, please please don't buy it.

using that logic we would all be eating with our fingers.dont buy a fork or knife if you dont know how to use one.
if you dont have one how the hell do you expect someone to learn to use one.
but then mabey nobody should buy a book either, unless you know how to read.

I would expect someone to be taught to use one properly BEFORE purchasing something that is used to kill. By the way as a liberal, I am pro-gun and own several, most Maine liberals like myself do, so please learn to read a post in full prior to making inaccurate statements. I realize that sweeping generalizations take that pesky thinking thing away, but alas, you also get incorrect conclusions from it.

Perhaps no one should post on threads unless they can spell properly either? .

Aynne's right, I spent 10 years in Maine in the U.S.C.G and one's political persuaision has nothing to do with owning guns.
"Everyone" up there owns guns especially if you live "in the country" or "the woods" which comprise probably 95% of Maine. And it's the same in New Hampshire and Vermont. People "grow up with guns" up there.

i hate to break the bad news to you LIBERALS but gun shows havent been banned in Texas.i was at one last weekend.
i sold a springfield .45.
i have no license, hell we dont evn fill out paperwork when one is sold between individuals.
only licensed dealers have all that paperwork and red tape that the federal government has made law abiding citizens fill out.
gun laws, and anti gun sentiment only help the criminals.they dont pay attention to gunlaws anyway.all those laws do is make money for the government and criminals out of law abiding citizens.

Its referring to PRIVATE gun shows. If you have no license and don't fill out paperwork when you are selling your weapons between individuals then you just admitted to committing a crime....on a public message board...Best to hope no ATF members are on here lol and the fact that you went on about gun laws 'only helping the criminals' after mention your illegal gun sales yourself....is rather ironic

No it wasn't just a Roman thing. Even today in places like the middle east salt trading is very important to the economy. Theres several countries with salt flats where merchants cut blocks of salt out of the ground and ship it via camel caravan. Hasn't changed in thousands of years. Remember these are fairly poor countries. The salt production industry is not the same as it is here. and is still very important.

I was thinking more that they were exporting the stuff rather than importing it in the middle east back then, now that you mention it. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

Yeah, he's self-adjusting. Has been for some months. He thinks it's working out better. I don't think he's seeing what the rest of us are all seeing.

I remember a post where he was talking about his meds, but at the time I was under the impression he was adjusting them at the direction of his doctor. It's just the recent change that caused me to question that impression.

Pahunkboy, my understanding is that self adjusting is a very bad idea. As I've already pointed out my understanding isn't worth much and you don't know me so I'm sure my opinion isn't worth much either. However, if you really are adjusting your meds without the knowledge of your doctor, I hope you will consider letting him know what you've been doing.

Do any of them (or these) relate to anything (that is; solid caselaw setting precedent) regarding what we have discussed on any thread since say 2005? Nobody is arguing the legal definition of common law or UCC here, but it doesn't relate to anything in any context in these threads.
