i'm speaking of a state of mind that is relaxed when she in in his presence and she lets him make decisions do all the worrying after she has unloaded her thoughts on him

That's called being in a loving caring relationship with someone to the point where you are comfortable enough with the other to let your guard down.

Has nothing at all to do with d/s.

i agree. It seems that there are many different concepts competing here for discussion.

osf -> RE: what do you consider spiritual about D/s? (1/19/2010 7:37:53 PM)

call it what you will, she was a hell of a lot more compliment to the things i wanted

and i have a holistic outlook on what we are that every thing we are supports everything else and is connected

and im not about to not use any tool there is

osf -> RE: what do you consider spiritual about D/s? (1/19/2010 7:48:57 PM)

ok say you can get that high from running, i'll concede that

but i cant run along beside her making suggestions

but if she gets that high from what i do to her then i can suggest things and she thinks them apropriate

and that is what counts

my opinion

Wow, this is about as clear as mud. This started out asking about D/s and spirituality, got confused with subspace...now I am just not sure at all what we are talking about...

osf -> RE: what do you consider spiritual about D/s? (1/19/2010 7:59:59 PM)

i thought we were each contributing, so we are talking about what we are talking about

Gotcha! It's good to be back. My "vacation" from here wasn't intentional. I believe it was some kind of computer issue. I simply could not post. I missed this place alot...well, maybe it would be more accurate to say that I missed alot of this place...LOL.

osf -> RE: what do you consider spiritual about D/s? (1/19/2010 8:13:47 PM)

ok some body else take the lead

you take a woman all she is, all her emotions feelings thoughts, well i dont treat any of them as a separate entities but holistically

when i said she went into a trance like state all i heard was that other things can cause that , well yes, but at the time they didn't, it was what did and said to her

I don't think that a sub or even slave could 'let go completely' in the sense of changing his/her personality.  I believe that stays intact.  Perhaps it's different for female slaves/subs.

i have seen some that can let go like that for hours at a time, my first submissive could, it was awe inspiring, sorta made me feel good too lol

I haven't lost my personality or changed it, but I have felt that TOTALLY WOW feeling for hours at a time.  It was a case of being able to be the very submissive woman that I really am for my One, without having to hide it away from the 'nilla public.  It's a case of being able to really totally be me with someone & not be afraid of judgement.  I think I know what you're driving at.  I miss that, as I am single right now.

she was one erogenous zone during those times oblivious to everything but my voice

DesFIP -> RE: what do you consider spiritual about D/s? (1/20/2010 3:52:03 AM)

Neither subspace nor having enough trust in his judgment to hand over decision making is especially spiritual for me. One is a meditative state and the second comes from having sufficient history with him to know that he thinks before he speaks and thinks things through thoroughly.

myotherself -> RE: what do you consider spiritual about D/s? (1/20/2010 4:04:42 AM)

I don't particularly have any spiritual beliefs, so to me being in a D/s relationship just feels natural and right.

Subspace is wonderful, and I have been taken there through words alone as well as through play. It's a wonderful headspace, but again I'd struggle with the spiritualness of it. Again, it's just a lovely 'added bonus' of WIITWD.

I don't think in spiritual terms, but for a submissive completely letting go and becoming what nature intended her to be, ie complete surrender to it

well I think that is about as spiritual as it gets

the question what do you feel is spiritual

and i said that i didn't think in spiritual terms but that it may be spiritual like

I disagree. I don't find anything spiritual in it. It's simply a part of my personality. G-d made me how I am but it's no more special than any other trait.

But, if I did, than I would think a dominant accepting who they are in a relationship is just as spiritual.

If you're talking about that "floaty" meditative state, i understand, and have experienced that for hours, especially in the cage. That isn't personality modification, though, it's just being "checked out" - even though i'm not actively expressing my personality at the time.

my first craved it

She's not the only one. But I don't regard that as spirital. It's a high of endorphins that floods my body. It's like a runner's high.

i was able to talk her into it

That's not too unusual. There have been threads about getting a sub into subspace or to orgasm simply from verbal cues.

CaringandReal -> RE: what do you consider spiritual about D/s? (1/20/2010 5:36:03 AM)

If you ask for peoples' opinions on spirituality, you're likely to get this thread moved to politics and religion.

But in answer to your question, For me, absolutely nothing. (What other people think and do is their own business, but please don't fault me for assidiously avoiding them.) BDSM is sexual to me. Period. Feelings and thoughts are feelings and thoughts, they accompany everything we do, and they are not "spiritual," in my opinion. I've never been in subspace--I was not allowed, but if I didn't think an LSD trip was spiritual (I thought it was a chemically altered state of mind), I highly doubt I'd ascribe that characteristic to something far less mind-altering. Finally, my creed, such as it is, begins with a capital A and talking about the non-existence of fantasy beings does not make for particularly hot pillowtalk.

i don't think in spiritual terms as i said and what is happening to her is something i caused and i'm the opposite of spiritual as you can get, i admit to being a flat out pervert.

i don't put on a dom clown suit to play, i like melding reality and my sexual adventures, i'm the type that stands around at play parties/dungeons wondering what all the excitement is about because i don't feel any

besides i'm probably the worlds worst top, but i do enjoy inflicting occasional physical and emotional suffering, ok maybe more than occasionally

i'm the type that enjoys pushing things off the edge and watching them fall, even though i know i'll have to pick them up again

i wonder why i'm still alone, i mean with all that going for me? lololololol

edited to make me not sound so undesirable

We've already addressed that I'm a frequent poster. You are a frequent thread-starter.

Things overlap.

You don't use threads to say who you are. You start threads that are on topics not about you and then you put in your little ads for yourself.
