Okay, I apologize right off the start, and I'll be honest, if I read my topic title, I'd be a bit apprehensive as well, but I'm serious about this: Some of my greatest relationships in bdsm have been with some of the nuttiest women I've ever known. Some have been space cases, other have been certifiably insane, and others were just so strange that I think I was implanted with a special pheremone that only attracts the ones that scared away Hannibal Lecter. But I mean this with great respect, as these relationships were some of the greatest ones I ever had. Granted, this tells me that perhaps I'm not playing with a full deck myself, because there has to be something to the axiom of "takes one to know one". But for some reason, when I first got into the scene, I found myself approached by some of the strangest tools in the shed. And I guess you might say that that's probably what I've missed the most over the years as I've become a bit more mainstream in bdsm communities. I now find myself in very normal circles (well as normal as bdsm circles can be), and I kind of wonder what happened to all of these types of people, or if somehow my crazy detector doesn't work any more, and all I'm finding are the normal people who approach me and want to be friends, or approach me with bdsm in mind and then suddenly turn into June Cleaver (without the cleaver).

I guess one of the things that used to really attract me to bdsm was that you met some of the strangest people and it was the coolest thing ever. Now, I don't seem to meet those kinds of people any more. And I'm not sure what happened.

Anyway, now this is turning into a depressing rant. Wasn't meaning to go that way, so I'll stop now and leave it with the thought that I'm very thankful that I was able to meet a lot of you when I did. You sure made life a lot more interesting than I would have been able to find on my own.

If you are the "artist man" in those stickman comics, I'd say you've got something going.

As a bummer note, if you are a middle aged person without children, it just gets progressively harder to connect with other people, much less the opposite sex. The good news is that its also harder for the opposite sex too, so if you can cross the divide and meet someone -- it might be more special than ever.

A few great dommes I have known were a little crazy...drank too much, stuff like that.  But I have also known some really terrific, intelligent, level-headed ones too.  I will admit that they seem harder to find, though.

Ha! I read the title of the thread and said to myself, "Me too!"

I affectionately refer to MsKitty as "The Crazy Bitch" during scenes.

There is in fact a lurker called junecleaver-I giggle every time I see them.

OP: I've been with some pretty crazy women. Did I have fun? Yes. Did they shape me as a person? Yes.

If one of them rang me and asked if I wanted to go out for a drink, would I? FUCK ME NO.

The hot crazy thing is tiring after a while...

Your ballroom days are over, baby.

You seem like a fairly bright, funny, nice enough guy.  You're also 44.  A few trips through the atrocity exhibition can be a good time--but it's probably time you buy a ticket for a different show.

That's a pretty harsh assessment and assumption based on someone's age.

Yes, I am "Artist Guy" in the comics. Just restarted the series a few days ago, for those that might be interested in more Stickman adventures.

And yeah, I agree that it does get harder to connect with other people as one gets older. I've started focusing more on my writing career these days rather than anything else mainly because of that.

It was intended to be blunt, but not harsh.  You clearly have things going for you.

You asked "What happened?"  The answer is, "You got older."  That's not so bad.  It's probably time to readjust your expectations and start looking for different qualities in a partner.  It's just a question of demographics.  There are worthwhile people out there looking for exactly the qualities that you seem to have.

Sometimes I wonder where my mind goes.
I sit down and sometimes I am fixated on where I focus with my eyes.
And a Blank Mind pops into play.

My mind is like a gyroscope.... if that makes any sense.

I also notice there is a nasty stigma against the mentally ill (or whatever the politically correct word is)
Stop it. Some are loopy, yes. I don't like being this way but I will deal with it.

I'm not sure why any one would want that. Sure it is 'amusing' but after a while.

However, when my mind does work I feel empowered. Sharp. Tactical. THIS IS THE MISSION STATEMENT.

being off of the grain does prove to have its uses.

I really have to laugh when I see this attitude in a youngster...Come to Ibiza where the over 40's are revered for surviving and flourishing in the insanity we call life... Year after year we watch the youngsters try to hang...and only the few survive.

Fair point.  There are a few things I don't think it would be fair or decorous to say in the thread.  Sent you a CMail.  Hopefully it will clarify.

Ha ha.  I would like to visit Ibiza at some point.  And I appreciate being called a youngster.

It did to Newton and Einstein, Pyro. From what I recall of an old thread, the three of you share the same 'affliction'. Maybe more of us should.

How dare you insult junecleaver!!! Lurker? Lurker? Who do you think that you are? What gives you the right?

I once said that junecleaver had the most beautiful eyes on CM. They have unfortunately clouded over....She once posted here but was driven into the badlands after the Great war for CM. So much was lost.

So, why you may call junecleaver a lurker, the only reason you can be seen or heard out here is because you are sitting squarely on her shoulders. You owe everything you have to june.

I hate you, you petty fucking slut.
