Is it ever acceptable for a Dom to Cry?

If he became a dom and underwent some kind of mystical transformation where he felt no emotions and therefore, had no reactions to them, then yeah, crying wouldn't be part of his scope of practice.

If he's still a human being, however, then it's very acceptable.

I expect a dom to be a human being, with the full range of emotions our creator has given all of us.
If a man can't cry, EVER, something isn't working right.

I wouldn't be attracted to a dominant that was a leaky faucet, but then again, I wouldn't be attracted to a dominant that was distant and emoitonally stunted.  But is it acceptable for a dominant to cry?  I imagine, if the dominant is in charge of his/her own emotions (as one would expect them to be) then it would be the dominant's prerogative.

The immediate response of my inner dom: I'll decide if it's acceptable or not.

The less tongue-in-cheek reply: I'll admit that I'm as human as the next guy, even without the fun of checking to see if I bleed (stepped on glass in the garage which proved THAT point quite handily), and if something tears me up inside enough that I have to let it out, I'm going to cry. I make no bones about that. When the family dog died, I bawled like a baby. When my two degus, pets of 7 years, died within days of each other, I was so broken up that I had trouble putting on the normal bullshit-happy-customer-service voice at work the next day. Acceptable or not, I'll cry.

I've been numb before, and I'd rather hurt. At least if I'm hurting, I'm feeling something.

I can't cry.  (Unless onions are used.)  I don't know why that is - there are times I tried to force it because I wanted the emotional release.

That doesn't make me any more or less of a Dom.

Of course. Honestly I would wonder at one who claimed to never cry. Why do you ask?

Not ever?  I've never met anyone who never cried.  Do you find you can connect on a deep emotional level with people, despite being incapable of expressing emotion through tears?  Sorry if I seem to be putting you under a microscope and dissecting you, and I mean no disrespect.  Just curious.

I've only seen him cry once. But if someone he loved died, I imagine he would bawl and rightfully. He's a full human, with a full range of emotions. If he were stunted emotionally I wouldn't be with him.

I would run far far away from someone who said Doms don't cry, because that to me is bullshit, Dominants are humans too and there for should experince a whole range of emotions, with out worrying about their domliness first.

When my dog was dying Daddy bawled his eyes out just like I did, The day we took my dog into be put to sleep every one had red rimmed eyes, and nobody worried about apperances or who didn't look domly.

I don't know why.  When I realized that my marriage was failing, when my daughter let me know she no longer wanted contact with me... those things ripped me up inside, but they didn't come out as tears.

I trust a man who can cry. Some women dont cry either. Says so much about this fukukta society we live in that we dont allow the free flow of emotions. I dont mean using our emotions to manipulate but the free flow. We all seem to work so hard to swallow shit, get over shit, let it roll off our back without realizing how much this costs us. Think heart attacks, cancer and even baldness can show signs of our genetic inheritance toward a presentation being more acceptable than the real us. So much bullshit, makes me cry.

If a guy cries over a death or an extreme heartbreak or something I'm fine with it.   But personally I don't care for tender-hearted guys who snivel a lot over little touching things.  It's a turn off to me; just a personal preference, I suppose.
