Hello all,  Recently  I was turned away from a alternative club for not fitting the clothing profile. Normally i wouldn't give a damm what people think of how I dress. However I do want to get in the club and think it might be beneficial to find out What clothes are typically considered Dominant per say.

Black shirt, black slacks and black boots or dress shoes are usually a safe bet and most men usually have those in their closet

Do you have a link to the clothing profile of the club?  Or can you explain what it is?

Other than that, black seems to be rather popular.

Sheesh.  We don't know what the club's dress policy is.  Call the club and ask!

What clothes are dominant?  The ones that command "kneel bitch"?

I love your screename. You could go dressed as Thor; he was quite Dominant. But the bouncer may not be into Wagner. :)

I'm not sure what the right answer is, but I have found that Hello Kitty doesn't quite fill the bill.

Perhaps not, but a nice fedora may do the trick.

You need to talk to someone at the club where you wish to go and find out what THEIR dress code is.

Hawaiian shirts. All true dominants own Hawaiian shirts in bright tropical colors. They are never turned away.

It would help to know what was rejected.

I'll second that arrow, and I'll raise you a skirt.  <wink>

OP, every public BDSM club these days has a website.  This is a clear case of you didn't do your research.  Many clubs don't allow what is termed 'street clothes'.  (Fuck, I just dated Myself.)  In other words, if you look like you just wandered into the club from off of the street, and were a lookie loo kind of person, you're not getting in.  Some things that I have seen rejected at the door include flip flops, khaki shorts, cut offs (on males), cruddy t-shirts, and so on.

Clubs have a dress code for a reason.  It is to promote atmosphere for the attendees.  Next time, take a look at the website for the establishment before you go.

BTW, why was this posted in the submissive forum?

I doubt it. I find it very you were right there and weren't told what was wrong. You probably have to be 21 to enter.

We, have only one club here that i know of that has a strict dress code. We don't go, because it is filled with wanna be's and never was.

We, try to go to the places where the people are down to earth and everything is relaxed.

BINGO!

Yes, when you say "alternate club," I bet you mean "BAR catering to the goth, etc. community."

"Dress codes" are not legal in Colorado....... wannabes ruined some of the best Leather Bars in Denver by forcing the issue.  Use ta' was - the general populace was afeared of even entering because of the rep of the bar (which was enhanced by doorman enforcing the dress code.)

END OF THREAD!

P.S.  Yeah.... why  is this in sub forum?  If you want to know "How to distinguish a Dom from a sub by clothing," start a diferrent thread, maybe in BDSM General.
