Louve00 -> RE: Corporation to run for Congress in Maryland (2/11/2010 6:56:19 AM)

A corporation can be as small as one person (so yes, a corporation would be able to vote, in that case, but I doubt they would be voting *for* the corporation, but *rather* for themself) Which means, yes, a corporation can be charged with a crime, who actually pays the jail time would probably be up to who actually did the crime...or if its an individual that incorporated then sure he can go to jail all by himself. Here is a link for you that breaks down the different ways you can incorporate and the taxation that goes with them.... http://www.fasteasyincorporationkits.com/ccorporationversusscorporation.htm Seeing as how incorporation can actually protect an individual from being personally sued if he owned a store (in other words you sue the store, not the store owner), that can be beneficial to the person who owns the store (*IF* he incorporated) I am only taking a guess here, but if a corporation was elected to do anything, ultimately there would be one designated person that would have to answer to anything (or the owner himself). There can be several reasons why a person living in one state would want to incorporate in another state, but my gut reaction says, if there is a political agenda involved, it just can't be good.
