Got a better suggestion that doesn't involve more corporate money being involved in our elections? The various tax increases related to political spending look unconstitutional if Citizen's United v FAA remains in effect.

By proposing an amendment, if passed it would codify this in the constitution thus making it the law of the land and in influence of which we have a right to lobby govt. for its terms and also overrules a very bad ruling by an over activist court.

Congress has every right to try.

The Court interprets the law (they aren't supposed to make it).

Different laws, different rulings. If those laws are unconstitutional, back to the court.

*Sigh*...

This is NOT a case of all GOP being corrupt and ALL Dems being clean.

This isn't even about corruption at all.  Brain, you're seeing this as a clean system changing to a corrupt one under which corps can contribute to candidates.  Guess what... they already do. 

My director was pressured to contribute to PACs for my company.  PACs are nothing more than legal funnels for corporate contributions.

And it may be inconceivable to you, but courts (despite accusations as such) do not consciously try to rule based on political considerations.  They try to rule according to the law.

Status: offline 		They’re not independent, they are corporate and religious whores who overturned 100 years of precedent despite saying they would not before being confirmed. That also makes them liars and for that they should be impeached or Obama should stack the court like I said before on another thread; they'd overturn abortion no doubt.

Alfred Sloan created the modern model of a corporation in the 1920s.  So the "100 years of precedent" couldn't be more than 80 years at most.

Are you stating that they gave an oath stating that they would not vote that a corporation has many of the rights of an individual despite that being the charter of a corporation in many ways?

I'm not an expert, but I've never heard of a justice being impeached.  I believe that they can be recalled by popular vote or removed from office for major issues (e.g., taking bribes).

You have made an unsupported statement that they promised to not consider corporations to have an ability to act like people.  Now you're calling them liars for not living up to your alleged promise?

You DO realize that Obama will not be in office forever, right?  What happens when a Sarah Palin gets elected and decides to stack the court? 

Conservatives have been trying to overturn Roe vs Wade for decades now.  They've had no luck doing so judicially as yet.  As I said, simmer down.

100 years of precedent is bs. The only significant prior case that was overturned was Austin, decided in 1990. Austin overturned law that was in existence since the first corporation was formed, so whining about stare decisis is also bs.

I can't think of any better campaign tool than a Democrat critter introducing a Constitutional amendment to limit the 1st amendment. Bring it on you dumb bitch ! lol.
