Inspired by the "Dishes you really ought to know how to cook" thread - which i'm thoroughly enjoying! i walked into the kitchen a bit ago and saw my Le Creuset 2 quart round french oven in cobalt blue which i LOVE - and use almost every day. i love how evenly it cooks, how it holds heat for long slow simmers, and is just the right size for smaller portions - and how it is so pretty to look at that i leave it out pretty much all the time. And then i thought it would be fun to hear what kitchen tools and utensils you all enjoy using (include outdoor cooking if you want, grilling etc. - and appliances too) and what you think you just couldn't live without. If you had one, or maybe 2 - 3 items left in your whole kitchen what would they be? And why do you love it/them so much? For me, in addition to the Le Creuset pan above, i would keep my Shun "Alton's Angle" chef's knife....my absolute favorite. Cuts everything, including tomatoes, perfectly, and is the right size to handle all cutting jobs. Also gotta have bamboo spoons to cook in the Le Creuset. So i hope to get some ideas about some tools i haven't used yet - and some great ideas how to use them!
