Even from waxing.  For me a landing strip must be kept, because especially in that area, the Himalayas will rise.  Very very sensitive skin.  No amount of exfoliating will help.  My esthitician has had to dig 'em out with a lancett, which - let me tell ya - is hell on a table.  So leaving that "landing" area alone (except for trimming) is necessary.  Fortunately the Man agrees with me there.  Everything else is fine, except for that one spot.

Nature made the point of insertion hairless. The shrubs actually outline the bulls-eye, not cover it. Hope that helps!

But if one shaves, soaking in a hot tub first will help a great deal. Using shaving balms made for reducing bumps helps as well (Aveeno has a great one - available in Canada, not sure about the US) Also, a loofa aftewards helps wonders to loosen up the hairs that tend to curl up and get back under the skin.

Waxing leaves much less bumps and one must be very careful with waxing in that area. Always have it done by a professional. Still might make you scream though! ;-)
