I've always been phobic of hair, on myself and others.  As a sub, that is still something I insist upon...if someone I am interested in has hair, they either remove it, or I won't be with them.  Tough, and very un-subbie, but true.
My sir, fortunately, is also grosses out by hair.  We have daily shower time together to make sure we are both completely hair free below my eyelashes, and below his chin.

I don't think it's a must in any relationship, I think it may be in a large number of cases but I can't say whether it's a majority or not.

No, I don't think you're wrong to think that "maybe" they have a wish to be with a girl who hasn't reached puberty but it would be very stupid and wrong to "assume" they have such a wish - I'm willing to bet that only a tiny minority of doms who prefer their subs shaven would fall into this category for the fast majority.

I can't speak for others but my preference (in rough order of importance) is based on the following -

1) The regular act of submission implied by shaving herself - She's actively reminded of her submission every time she showers
2) The reminder of her submission every time she sees herself naked
3) The increased sensitivity to silk, and wind my sub feels
4) Lickability - although as you say, neatly trimmed muffs are only marginally less lickable

All the "what nature / god intended" stuff here ... I ponder if anyone in favour of that position never uses cosmetics / fragrance / visited a hairdresser etc. ?

Shaving is hygienic, as is a nice close trim.

As for the pre pubescent bit ... I've only ever come across that view from anti porn campaigners trying to make out that all porn with shaved female models/actresses is just paedophilia in disguise. Which is, of course, clearly the mindless bollox type stuff that fanatics like that spout.

I'm practical minded, shaved is more sensitive (and, one could argue, saves on the lube bill lol) and a neat trim is also suitably hygienic, both of which make for a nice bit of fun when shared. I can't however agree more with the "no dental floss please" gang here ...  but without this thread, no one could guess that ... since there's no option in the profile editor here to list pubic dental floss as a "Hard Limit" ... perhaps there should be ?

My Husband has grown a massive beard over this winter...

no hair gets stuck in my teeth when we French kiss
His mouth is not less moist than it was before He grew the beard
He surely is not cleaner or dirtier than He was without the beard
I love the way the beard feels against my skin

I've never had an issue with girlfriends but I do prefer something down there. If it was too much I'd have no problem asking them to trim, but I've never had a female lover who was too bushy.
I'm a little pickier with men, I like them trimmed but I hate completely clean-shaven guys...it reminds me of the passage in The Bell Jar when Ms. Plath compares a penis to a turkey neck. I love giving oral, but there is nothing sexy about that.

I personally clean up a lot of the undergrowth, because I prefer it that way for daily use. I've only got one bit that habitually breaks out, so I leave it alone. I've had no complaints. (grin)

Do I order my subs to shave? It depends on the sub. Too much fur gets in the way of CBT, but a light coating of hair is probably more trouble to take off than it is to leave on. If he is into being controlled heavily, though, requiring him to shave and keep things bare for me is a nice way to remind him of his status in a quiet, everyday fashion.

Yes, there's a lot of Doms/Masters/Tops/insert-your-own-classification who do prefer this, but it IS very ubiquitous across societies now. Check out any "Girls Gone Wild" type video. Unshaven is much rarer than shaved, at least among THOSE girls. And that's in Ft. Lauderdale, Rio de Janeiro, Ibiza, you name it. You're lasr sentence is exactly why, for some of us, it does enanble additional sensation. While there may be no difference in the purely physical sensation... the psychological effect of feeling vulnerable and exposed can take sensation to a much higher level.

It only makes a difference in sensation after you FIRST shave the pussy bald... within no time at all it will just feel as it did with hair... (minus the sensation of having your pubes pulled...ofcourse, you can not pull at pubes that are not there)
So the argument about it being more sensitive is indeed crap if you shave ALL the time as many many females seem to do nowadays.
