Yeah that's what you say whenever the religion in question is Christianity but the moment it's an "other religion" like Islam you sing a different tune:

IF i understood the islamic religion better, i would argue in their steed just as well. Im sure, and i have said, there are many of different faiths who follow the core teachings and beliefs, and there are others who use their beliefs as an excuse to do what they wish. It doesnt matter what religion, all religions can be used to further the gain of the individual, making the individual a user, not a religious person.

Status: offline 		Belief is a state of mind, it seems to me, and therefore is irrational. I have no problem with that. We all engage in irrationality, all the time. For example, it's irrational to overeat, isn't it?

Saying belief lacks reason is a generality and I don't agree with it. One can research and learn, apply their own reasoning based on what they learn, their history, what is logical to them and so on, and still choose to believe.

Believing in God does not connote believing in one or any organized religion.

Status: offline 		i agree, it does not. I think.. and can only say think because i do not know, but i am hoping its true... that people associate being religious with being of a formal religion. Just because i get baptized in a catholic church does not mean i have to believe in the catholic faith or their core values. it just means i was baptized there.

Perhaps. She is acting very immaturely however. I'll take the little girl back and replace it with "immature individual" and I will also add that this isn't a fact, but rather an opinion.

That's not what you said, read your own words. You've made the claim that the religion of Islam itself is doing far sneakier things.

The christian bashing on these boards can get quite heavy. Even the Board of Education knew what was going on in that school, yet did nothing. No one here posted a word of what was happening, yet everyone was bringing up the historical abuse of the christian past ( none of which i have argued. they were done in the name of christianity, i only argue that those who did these atrocities were not christians themselves)

Now, if you wish to continue this form of argument, please do. I do not care for formal religions. I have stated such time and time again. I do believe actions and words go hand in hand, and that religions can be used by bad people to excuse bad things.

Care to take up that argument?

And your fact checking mission discovered what? a head shot from the shoulders up in a room with a lamp as a backlight. Professional reasons. But, in all honesty, it does not indicate one way or another my size. So your attempt at a slam dunk went flat and your excuse is shady at best.

But the fact that you lowered yourself to that post is telling.
