About 50 years ago women were not even allowed to vote actually, an amendment radification was made on august 26, 1920, granting women the right to vote, on a national level, though in some states they had been voting since as early as 1838, for example, in wyoming. also, there were most certainly dominatrices 50 years ago. hell, there are vintage photos of dominatrices from early 20th century. ever hear of bettie page? while she was vanilla, the photos of her (mostly taken in the fifties, i'm sure you can do the math) wouldn't have been taken if there wasn't a demand for it.
