He is quite transparent just as many of the posters in this thread have been about Republicans in other threads. Problem is, you're both wrong and both wrong for a simple reason. Liberals and conservatives both inhabit this country and if you don't find some common ground, somewhere you can... what's that word that used to have meaning... oh compromise, then the paths we're on only have two possible outcomes. Either we're going to keep swinging the pendulum back and forth by electing first one, then the other, or we're going to divide in some way because it's reaching the point where the two sides have gone beyond debate to the point they just can't damn well stand each other anymore.

I'd give it three possible outcomes, but that would require some independent thought from both sides - which is apparently impossible since weighing any specific individual becomes a reiteration of every wrong, imagined or real, ever done by either side.

This was a horrible decision by the Court. So many including Lincoln must be twisting in their graves....

"that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

the "new birth" is now out to the largest pockets...A government of the people who have now been bought by the wealthiest of corporations and donors.

It could be kind of cool when the next Presidential address is brought to you by the friendly folks at Exxon. Senators and Congressman will be donning caps and shirts with their sponsors logos.

Working in the election arena I tend to see things a bit differently. Looking at it from the point of view of the people...the voters. With the decision that was made in the Supreme Court it opens a whole can of worms for both sides. It depends on what company has the most money and what one they want to buy. It is not a Republican or a Democrat thing since either side can be bought for the price of a high priced add. The mud slinging will be more pronounced. The voters will have to do their research. It amazes me that people of this great country can research a theme park they are visiting or a tourist attraction. Yet when it comes to the ones who will be making the laws that govern our great nation they will not even look to see truly how they voted on subjects that involve them. Until the voters start to do their part and know who is truly runnning this country and how they vote they will vote for who they "think" they are not who they truly are. Sad but true.

What does that have to do with the statement the GOP made the government larger than at any time in our history? Yet still preach they want small government

As for the conservative group, it seems you can take anything out of context when you pick and choose the lines you want to read

There statement for forming this new group was to take advantage of the new SC ruling to push their agenda through, that is the reason they gave for starting the group, the "group" formation was taken from a Dem model, not the purpose for which they are using it

Why do you think there is a "Tea Party" ??.... we are fed up with both parties and we are going to read the riot act to Washington..... The people are not nearly as dumb as the idiots who think they know it all....the 60's are gone...and the big liberal movement has run out of gas...now its time to rediscover the wisdom of the founders and refind our strengths....those being individual, economic, and religious freedom.... We discovered that in 1861, (still pissed off at Robert E Lee for not listening to Longstreet and going around to the right at Gettysburg).... why do you think that there has been a run on firearms out here in 'flyover' land....we are arming with the knowledge that in order to perserve our way of life, we might have to resort to open conflict once again..... but whatever it takes...no matter what the price, liberty will prevail once again...... Libs and socialist will NEVER rule this land..... that much you can be assured of.... a simple divorce sounds more and more appealing to many.... let New York and California, as well as Michigan rot in hell for all I care...they made their stinking broke ass beds...now sleep in em..... there will be NO jobs in blue states for a long time to come.....no company is dumb enough to locate into one of the blue socialist states..... maybe they can learn to eat rats ...its a lesson they certainly need to learn...in spades....
